We Humans are Amazing
Friday -- Bright beautiful cold morning with 3 C below zero. Rain
in forecast. April showers May flowers. It is already May but I can't
see any flower in the gardens around my neighbored. I think
everyone following stay home directive because of virus.
It is 9.15, I am staying in my room with my computer. Couple
of weeks back, my eldest grandson fractured his ankle. We made
some sleeping adjustments because of that.
Before going downstairs for breakfast, I try to make sure that my son
and my daughter in law are awake. We have to be cautious to not to
disturb anyone around.
Living with family is demanding for everyone in the house, not only
for we seniors. Everyone has to pitch in, for the peace and harmony
of the house, we live in. We have to be flexible to make adjustments,
to coordinate with others.
My youngest grandson came to sleep in my room. He was awake whole
night, must be playing video games. Sometimes he comes to sleep in my
room. He knows, I never use my bed during day time.
My daughters use to call me in the morning. It is already afternoon at
their place in England. I messaged them, to call me later. I don't want
to disturb my grandson, let him sleep for a while.
I am going through my Facebook messages, for now. My Grade five friend
from Australia, mentioned in her message that here in Perth, we don't need
AC or Heating like in Canada. Weather is comfortable most of the times.
Before that she used to live in Dubai. She mentioned that over there
AC is a must. Sometimes power break down used to be for three to four
days, at that time we had no choice but to move to some of our friend's
or family member's place, to take refuge.
We talked about the old days of our student life. We had electricity
in our town, after we finished our Master's Degree. We used to live
in the same neighborhood.
We still remember, doing dissections of earthworms, cockroaches and
frogs, under the light of lantern, using pins and needles. Making our
own dissecting Dishes, spreading cheap melted wax in small used
containers.
After recalling all that, I realize that we Humans are amazing.
We can adapt and able to handle any given circumstances. Make
changes in our living to coordinate with whatever is available.
We can survive and adjust. Just takes a while.
I have posted the blog in Smile Corner. This being Saturday, lots of customers are lined up outside my shop today to read blog. They come here to read blog from today and also the past week. The line snakes around 2 city blocks. I am hearing that the priest has asked the government to investigate the incident that I mentioned 3 days ago. I am sorry that I am wasting your time by repeating it but I am not sure if you are getting my comments. A few days ago, there was a line up outside to read the blog however the customers pushed the security guard in and they rushed in. The priest is saying that the security guard himself left the place to read the blog. He also is saying the security guard leaves his post often to read the blog. I have spoken with the priest and explained that the blogs are so addictive and the security guard is only human. But the priest didnt agree. I am thinking of stopping the priest to go inside but I know you have said in the past to not do it.If the priest does complain, then the government will give me a big fine. I am wondering what I can do.

Dear Madam Smile, you so good. You write good to. I go neighbor and say her how you. She say I ok but you no go job today? I say I no job because one job office close because of virus and I fire me because dear Mr. Supervisor no allow me do big celebrate for my Madam birthday. Neighbour say but you told me you Madam say go back work. I say I did but Mr. Supervisor say it too late and I create lot problem. Neighbor say than what you do? I say I will wait for Madam advice. Neighbour say how she will know. I say I tell her 5 day ago but she no write because she very busy and help lot people with virus problem. Neighbour say she need go. I think she head hurt too. I do 0 proud job and always read blog

ReplyDeleteWe are continuing to not be able to hold any readings because of the Covid 19 pandemic lockdown. The retirees however are still making use of the blogs. I contacted some retiree and told them about the blog. They called their friends, and the friends contacted their friends. Before you know it the blog has spread like wildfire. We have been using this technique to discuss the blog. The retirees are amazed that you used to go camping with your friend when you were young. Some of the retirees used to go camping but they always used to carry flashlights. We were surprised that your aristocratic upbringing at Oxford, allowed you to have time to have these experiences
The retirees are having lots of challenges with the lockdown. We are feeling very low because there is no place to go. We only use the blogs to keep positive. Thank you for that. We all wish we could tell you, how much difference you are making to us

ReplyDeleteThe students appreciate your blog. Our comments from the last few days are not exaggerated or writen to make you feel good. We are feeling very low because there is nothing to do. Our parents are giving us a really hard time. In some cases the parents ask us to have a coffee with them once a week. Of course, we finsih coffee in 5 minutes and leave because we hate the conversation. We have our own friends and our lives. Its not that we dont appreciate what they do, but to be honest its not a big deal. All parents do that. We dont need to hear the lectures every 10 to 14 days. And these are long lectures, its starting to be about 5 mins. What the hell is this.
Also, we dont understand how you can let your grandson sleep in your bedroom. Our grandparents never allow that. They dont even allow us to even sit in their chair because they think that their chair settings will get messed up. I am not kidding.
