Thought Of The Day

It is Friday cold, bright, sunny morning, temperature 18 C. It is nearly September and it is Canada so we know summer is gone and winter is coming. Snow will be on the way, we are ready to accept whatever will be there. We are Canadians, it will be fine. It is 9.30, I am back to work, sitting in my office cubicle, writing My Blog. Darts will start at 10 am. I will go in the next room to play, to enjoy with my Senior club friends. Yesterday was very tiring for me. I arranged all the clothes in my cupboard. That was tough as I have to take everything out of my suitcase first and also all the stuff from the cupboard, to rearrange everything. It took me couple of hours. I was really tired by the end of the day. I started my work late in the afternoon. Morning, I was busy making calls. I made  some  calls day before still I have to do lot more. When I come back from trip, I try to connect with all my family and friends. To me people are very important. I

To All My Dear Readers This is very quick recipe for Tasty potato dish Cut potatoes into big pieces You can peel the skin or leave it wash well Boil the potatoes for 5 minutes Take some cooking oil in another pot Put it on medium flame add cumin seeds one red chili  couple of whole black pepper  garlic sliced or crushed you can add garlic paste not much Just half tea spoon now add the potato pieces, already boiled Stir for a while  add salt red chili powder turmeric powder to give color or add paprika one green pepper cut into big pieces Cover the pot  Lower the flame and leave for 5 minutes Stir 2 minutes It is done now enjoy Take with any bread of your choice with rice or make sandwiches

It is hot hazy morning here in Pickering. Pickering is suburb by the side of Toronto so don't get confused. It is 36 C here hot. On my first day I unpack my trolley and take gifts out of my suitcase. Make calls in the morning. I got perfume from NEXT for my daughter in  law and nice tea shirt for my Son from Marks Spencer. For my grand kids   I got  Quality chocolates and also chocolates from Thornton. I called my sister in law, talked to my elder brother. My younger brother  and  her wife called me. I made plan early in the morning to go with my  Youngest to  take him to Tim Horton for fries and Slurpee. It was hot but windy so was OK not bad. We enjoyed our walk. He talked  about his school to be opened on Monday. I asked him that you must be  happy and exc

It is Tuesday morning sunny bright beautiful 16 C in London England -- 34 C in Toronto. It is 10 am, I am done with my breakfast, walking around  in the back garden of my daughter in Reading. My luggage is all packed, I am sort of ready to go to my home to Toronto. I have to say good bye to England, the land of three of my Daughters.  I spent about eight weeks here, shunting between Croydon, Grimsby and Reading. I came to England on 1st of July leaving today on 28th of August. It all looked  now a dream to me and Dreams always come to an end. I have to come to reality. Done is done. I have to leave at 11 am from my Daughter's place for Heathrow  airport. That is reality.  My Air Canada flight is waiting for me at Terminal # 2. At 3 pm it will fly and take me to my home,Toronto. My Son will be waiting for me at Pearson airport.  I will be in Toronto at 6.40 pm, that is 11.40 pm England time.  I am in the car now leaving my Daughter's place going towards H

Summer is done here in London but not in Canada. In the morning when  I get up, I use to check the weather in Pickering, Canada, the city I live in  and also for the city of London where I am visiting.   In Pickering it is 26 C while in London is 13 C. Tomorrow on Tuesday I will  leave London, the city of my two beautiful Daughters. One of my Daughter is in Grimsby. She is five hours away from London. I was with her for couple of weeks. Came to Croydon to spend some time with my another Daughter now I am in  Reading to spend the last leg of my trip. My flight is tomorrow at 3 pm.  Toronto is five hours behind in time so I will be at Pearson airport at 5.40 pm, Toronto time. I started from Toronto to England on 1st of July. It looked like an over  ambitious journey for me, for a 74 year old woman, who has to travel  alone.  I had to visit different cities to see three of my Daughters.  It looked  tiring but it  was great.  I enjoyed the whole of my trip.

It is Sunday cold cloudy morning 14 C it will be rain whole day so sitting in back garden is out of question. I am done with my breakfast. Sitting in TV room some cooking show is on but we are not paying any attention to it.  My Daughter busy making plans, talking to me about when to take me  to drive to do some shopping for me. I have to leave for Toronto on Tuesday,  she knows time is running out. She wants to make most out of it. My Daughter's in laws are not mobile, she keeps in mind that she has to  prepare  food and also be there for them at lunch and dinner time. She has  to schedule  her timings accordingly. She is handling everything well. Yesterday we went for an hour drive. She  wanted to show me her school, her work place. We went to Marks Spencer in the morning. Yesterday I enjoyed dinner at my Daughter's sister in law's place. It was  birthday of their two sons. I gave ten pounds to each of them. It was nice  food , they orde

It is Saturday bright sunny cold morning 11 C, it is 9 am, I am done  with  my breakfast, sitting in my daughter's back garden. Enjoying  the scenic view all around. Morning dew adding up the beauty.  White roses giving a look of crystals because of the tiny pearl like dew  droplets.  On the green grass white pearls are scattered everywhere.  All color of flowers,  all sorts of green leaves everything is worth to  behold and to admire. I am saying thank you from bottom of my heart to my Dear Creator  for everything. There are two Budgies and one black cat at My Daughter's  place.  In the morning when I start my day, I mean come downstairs from  my  bedroom,  they all are there to make my day. Amazing. It is Friday sunny bright morning 18 C, a bit cool . It is 9 am I am done with my breakfast, sitting in the back garden of my Youngest Daughter in Reading. I am sitting on one of the blackish grey steel chairs. On my right is the big blue trampoline. Couple of years back this was full of kids in summer holidays. Now kids are grown up, busy on computers. There is no one on trampoline now. Time flies. On my left is the raised cemented triangular platform, full of variety of  flower pots. Pots of various shapes, colors and sizes. Two bottle green pots  are like full boots. One pot is like cat, built with black wires. One pot is like  swan and so on. This corner is an eye catching spot of the back garden. Behind this beautiful  corner, I can see tall trees of the neighboring garden. I think more than 15 ft in height. Two grey squirrels are busy climbing these trees. One pigeon is walking around. Two white butterflies just came. They are  talking to flower

It is Thursday cool morning bright with 19 C rain on the way. Today I am leaving for my Youngest Daughter's place, to Reading. She is looking forward to see me. Yesterday was very special day for me. My cousin sister arranged a get  together  for me as my farewell event. Her whole family was there. Her  younger sisters  who are visiting, were also there. We had one dish party at lunch time. In the evening we sisters walked with  our daughters to special ice cream shop, "After" to enjoy special moments. At dinner time we went to have KFC. Everyone made payment for his own. I will cherish these memorable moments in my memory box. It is my last day here in Croydon with my Daughter. I have to pack my  things.  It will not take long as my suitcase is already packed and also the  trolley.  I have to gather the things from my table and around, in my bedroom.  This Box room is of my grandson's. He used to sleep here. It is so nice of him that

It is Wednesday cool bright morning 18 C. Today I have to go to Tooting Broadway to my cousin's place. She has arranged a get together dinner  for  me.  I am leaving tomorrow from Croydon to Reading for my Youngest  Daughter's  place. From Reading I will leave for Toronto on 28th of August. My stay here in England was great. I enjoyed nearly my two months long  trip.  When I arranged my journey, it looked like it will be too long but  I was busy  whole time. Now not even a week left for my departure. I had great time with my Daughters and with my grand kids. These  moments  will be memorable. I also had a chance to see two of my school  friends. That was amazing.  I am getting older day by day, I don't know if I will be having another  chance.  I don't know but I enjoyed all the moments in hand. I will be  leaving  England with no regrets, rather with beautiful memories to keep  in my memory box. 

To All My Dear Readers Take the whole chicken skin on mark cuts so that spices  easily get absorbed and will taste better. Put it in a baking dish add vinegar enough to soak the whole chicken. In a cup or small bowl take some Soy sauce add only garlic paste not much, salt and pepper. Mix and paste this on the chicken also inside. Leave it for couple of hours in the fridge it is better if overnight. Take some small potatoes cut into half  sprinkle some salt and pepper put it in the baking dish with chicken Put the dish in the oven with foil on at 450 for 20 minutes take off the foil leave the dish for further 20 minutes  with same temp. It is done now broil for 2 minutes to give color. Enjoy with rice or make sandwiches It will be great with green peas and corn

Time is running out, I have done things what I wanted to do here. I want to go to Purley one more time. I will do that today. My middle Daughter used to live in Purley. She moved and now living in Grimsby. Whenever I come to London, I always go to Purley  to revive  the golden memories. Bus # 289 goes straight from Croydon to Purley. In 25 minutes  I used to  travel from one of my Daughter's place to the other  one,  connected   with  both of them. I go to Purley to revive those  past  memorable moments. Today my Youngest Daughter is not in good shape. She was driving and  something  happened, she has to go to emergency. Whole day she was in  hospital for  tests.  She is fine now. It is Monday morning sunny bright 19 C. Today I will go to see my school friend.  She lives in Central London at Finchley station. My another school friend is also  visiting from California. She will also be there at her place. More than half a century back we were in same class in Grade five. We three  will have lunch together to revive our past memories. Amazing moments  to cherish in my memory box. In the morning I was a bit dizzy, not feeling 100 %, my Daughter was insisting to cancel my program. It takes more than two hours from Croydon to go to Central London. It will be a day long trip.  I was thinking that one of my friend is going to have her knee surgery on 29th August. We don't know how long we will be able, be mobile to enjoy these moments. Time flies we have to value the moments in hand. So much has been changed in our lives still we have something to talk about.  We have to share our school time memories. We relate what we talk and that is so

It is Sunday 19 C, cool cloudy morning. Days are passing so is life.  One more Sunday and that's it. My flight is on next Tuesday on 28th of August. End of my trip to England, to the land of three of my  Daughters. Everything has it's fate, meant to be ended. Nothing goes for ever except  rivers.  I am not sure about that too but I remember the piece of poetry  from my school days books. I don't remember the poet, not even the title  of  the poem.  I just remember that it was sort of dialogue between man and river. River  was boasting " Men may come and men may go but I go for ever." Yes my  Dear  it looks true. We come and we go. Anyway we have to value the moments in hand, have to make most out of  that.  I enjoyed the BBQ party yesterday at my cousin's daughter place in  Tooting.  Today I am planning to go to Croydon Centre with my Daughter. It is Saturday cloudy cold morning 19 C, yesterday was much better. Here in London weather changes every minute. In the morning before  having  breakfast, my routine is to check messages on my Facebook,  comments from  my Readers Family and also check weather. Today on the breakfast table I told my Daughter and my son in law that  tomorrow will be sunny and 25 C. They were happy as the whole family was planning to go to beach. This time we will meet at Trafalgar  Square.  I will start getting ready after 11 as it is one and half hour travel  time.  I will  take bus # 109 to Brixton station from there bus # 3 to Trafalgar. It is Wednesday cool morning with light drizzle 19 C, my Daughter has doctor's appointment. I made my breakfast now having tea. I am on  my computer writing my Blog, checking messages from my friends and family also from my Dear Readers Family. My youngest Daughter just called, her daughter got admission in King Uni. She is also getting prize for modern languages. She was very happy,  planning  to celebrate. She is her youngest Daughter.  Her two siblings, elder brother and sister, got their results in flying colors. They got distinctions and everything. No doubt this youngest sister was under lot of pressure. She did very well too but very nervous throughout her summer holidays. I think siblings pressure is too much for kids. Sometimes it creates healthy competition but keep in mind that they can go under depression. Every child is  different with his own talent and capabilities. It is bright sunny cold morning 17 C. Yesterday I spent my day with my Daughter from Grimsby. She was going to see her Daughter. She is Autistic, lives in London. My Daughter called her Carer too to come with her at Croydon Centre as she has to buy her some dress. She recognized her Mom right away and came to hold her hand. She  doesn't  talk. She knows her Mom will take her to some eating place. We  went to KFC  had lunch together. We did shopping for her after that my  Daughter had to drive her Home. My Daughter left for Grimsby at 4.30 but after 10 minutes, she called that all Highways are blocked so she is coming back. In London if roads blocked  you can not imagine how long you will be stuck in traffic. Today my Youngest Daughter coming for day long trip from Reading. It is hour and half away from  Croydon, from my Daughter's place. My middle Daughter from Grimsby offered to drive me there. We started at 6.30 pm and were there at 8 pm. We were back at 11 pm. I got some gifts as her son has a baby boy 2 months old. I also got gifts for my sister and her daughter in law, not so expensive, just as a token. She was  very  happy  to see me. I am planning to see her one more time before I leave  for  Toronto. My Daughter will leave today for Grimsby. She is planning to go before  lunch to  avoid rush hours. My Nephew lives in Chelmsfold, it is also far.  His  wife asking me to come over there, at her place. I am planning to go  there  tomorrow and will stay  overnight. It is 8 am cool morning cloudy with 15 C. I am leaving, have to spend my  last few hours in Grimsby.  I am done with my breakfast, have to go to my  Daughter's back garden  for the last time. I have to say good bye to Pink  Roses, Scarlet red Fuchsia,  Pink Carnations and to my friend white Butterfly. So long, see you in years to come. We share all the golden memories  of  the  moments we spent together. No hard feelings, no tears, nothing   to be sad  about.  I know we can't predict Future.  Future is unseen, but we have  present  in our hands. My Dear Friend " N " Please don't feel low I love you. It is Sunday morning cool a bit cloudy not gloomy. It is 17 C. Today will be the end of my trip to Grimbsy, at My Daughter's place.  She will be driving  me  to London so will be couple of more days with her. Tomorrow she will see her Daughter, who lives in Home. On 14th my  Youngest Daughter is coming from Reading to spend time with me  and with her sisters.  She is looking forward to that. We will have  great time together. I think on 15th my Daughter will return home back to Grimsby. I will  see  her off till my next trip to England. May be till next year or year after.  I have not enough days left as I am leaving for Toronto on 28th August. I will be busy with my Daughters till 15th, after that will make plan to see  my younger sister. Today is my last Saturday morning here in Grimsby. It is beautiful bright day chances of 30% rain in the evening. Weather is great still cool with 15 C. I am awake I spend some time in my room, don't want to wake up everyone in the house. I am reading messages on my Facebook, checking weather, going through  Headline News and reading comments from my Dear Readers  Family.  This is enough to unwind myself and to make my day brighter. I try to make some plan for the day ahead of me. It keeps me busy, I love  to  live in day tight compartment, no time for feeling low and getting bored. While I make plans, I never take anyone into account. I mean to include my Daughter or any other person.  If the other person will not be able to give you time or make your plan to happen,  it will be a great set back for you. Always try to exclude everyone else in your planning. If someone gives you time or be able to do something, it will be like a  lottery ticket for yo

It is Friday bright sunny cool morning with 15 C. I am in the back garden just for a while. I also walked on the grass, it was not comfortable. I think  days for garden are done now. Though pink Rose,  scarlet red Fuchsia and  Carnations, all are there to brighten my day, still their  smile is not as broad  as it used to be couple of days back. They know what is about to come. It is Thursday morning bright sunny cool with 15 C. It is 7.30 am I am awake in my room, everyone else sleeping. When I am awake I open up my computer to check comments from you people, from my Dear Readers  Family. After that I check my mails, messages on my Facebook. Every morning I get message from my 5th grade school friend who now lives  in  Sydney with her son. My Daughters also write to give me signals.  Like my Daughter from downstairs, write "I am also awake, Mom come  downstairs"  My youngest one from Reading writes "I will call you in  15 minutes". These messages for me are like morning smile, brightens my day. After that I go downstairs to walk in the back garden and you can imagine. It is Wednesday morning sunny bright. Weather is like a roller coaster.   yesterday was very hot today windy 17 C.  I am in back garden  walking  barefooted on the grass. It is cold, single pink Rose  looking  old  lost all  it's glow like we Seniors. I am walking in the back garden smelling Pink Roses and  Dark pink Carnations.  I am walking barefooted on the grass. It is unique experience, can not be  explained in words.
