Time to gather Gold

Image
Beautiful day, great morning. It's 20 C perfect weather. Slightly windy. I think now summer days are about to be over.   The apartments in " Twin Towers". I mean in the two tall trees in the front garden of my next door neighbor. are looking quiet. I don't see any activity over there. I think all the birds moved out.   They must now be crossing the border for South of the Border. I hope they have their complete documents to clear the security. Things are not the same as were a couple of years ago. So much has changed.   They will come back in early spring or be gone till summer next year. The trees are looking a bit quiet. Starting to change the colors. Losing the green of their leaves. Grass in gardens started to have some brown patches in between.   Some of the leaves have already changed to yellow. lost their strength. We see so many of them scattered around on the pathways. Nature started to change. Now there will be a totally different scenar...

I am at Coffee House

Image
It's Thursday morning. I started my day a bit late. Some nights are tough to handle. Every night brings a different story, a different scenario to deal with.  Same goes with mornings at our age. We don't know which part of our body is not in a good shape to go with our plans. We were not having any problem planning our day schedule at the age we used to go to work. We had no option except to get up in the morning and get ready for work.  Our body was used to that. We had no time to listen to our body parts whining. Things start happening as we age. We are done with our work. No designated plans for our twenty four hours. We ourselves have to organize our days. We are now the ultimate authority to make our day plans. It is a big responsibility. We can make it or can ruin things by taking the wrong track. The wrong track will be doing nothing just sitting idle. We will be couch potatoes. That will take our mental health downwards. Our physical strength ...

Sitting on Red knitted chair

Image
It's morning, time to have breakfast. The weather looks great, not too cold. I am sitting on one of the red knitted chairs in my back garden. My son got four of these steel chairs years ago from Home Depot. We don't use these chairs so often. Just in a couple of summer days we get a chance to have a seat here to enjoy our back garden. Not on rainy days and not in winter time. Summer for us in Canada comes like a visitor. It doesn't stay long. We look forward to summer days to get ready to hit roads and waters. We all know that it will be short. We try to make maximum use of its short and sweet stay. This is the beauty of Canada that every season is intense, comes in full bloom. Summer time sometimes we have to come across scorching temperatures with plus forty centigrade. Sitting in gardens won't be comfortable on those days. Today is like some of the days as the weather is great. Perfect to sit outside to enjoy the back garden. My deck is all washed...

Enjoying morning tea

Image
It's Sunday today. I am sitting beside my kitchen area. It is early in the morning, a bit quiet at my place.  My son is an early riser, not home. He goes for morning walks, loves biking too. Takes his bike to the lake and walks around. My grandsons are sleeping. They must be enjoying late night. Busy playing video games with friends.  It's a different world now friends don't have to be in person to enjoy together. Not like that in our time. I am busy enjoying my breakfast. I start my day drinking a cup of honey water. One teaspoon of honey in hot water. I take oatmeal porridge in a bowl of warm milk after that. No tea or coffee with my breakfast. I enjoy my tea while playing Darts with my senior club friends in the library. I go there three days a week.  On the days I am off and not going to play Darts. I walk to Tim Hortons to enjoy my morning tea  / coffee over there. We have to plan to do things to make our day to chalk out our own day schedules. I ...

Today I am off from work

Image
Today is the 2nd of September. It was a long weekend. Monday was Labor day so everything was closed.  Eateries were open. I walked to Tim Hortons to enjoy my time. We have to keep our plans ready to switch, so as not to ruin our days. For me today is also off. No Darts on Tuesdays. I usually skip my morning tea at home after my breakfast. I walk to Tim Hortons to get my tea  / coffee over there.  We have to chalk out our routine to fill up our day schedule. Especially at our age it matters a lot. We have to make our own schedule. We are done with our work and other family matters. Now it is our time to enjoy doing things we want to do. We have twenty four hours every day for our own selves.  Time flies. We don't have to wait for tomorrow. We don't know things might happen and we will not be able to do things we can do today. For everyone things change. Circumstances are not the same. We have to value what we have today. Make use of time in ...

David Austin giving me smile

Image
The weather is great. Blood red David Austin roses are smiling in the flower bed at the back of my garden.  The flower bed is looking great with pink, purple, white and deep orange flowers. August is nearly done. Today is the 28th. Time flies fast. The new year of 2025 is not new anymore. I came back from England a couple of days ago. It looks like I have never been away from my home. Things are back on track. I started working part time, going to play Darts three days a week. We humans are unique. We are easily able to adjust to the surroundings. Manage to adopt whatever is available to make our time. Yesterday was a busy day for me. I was planning to sort my clothes after coming back from my work. I made it. I organized my closet.  All the clothes were on my bed to sort out. I packed some in my suitcase. I won't be needing those for a while in winter time. It's Thursday, I am off, no Darts today. We have to keep our plans ready to switch to get ours...

I am home all set

Image
Time flies, things change, so does the weather. I believe that change is the beauty of life. It's 7.15 in the morning, 17 C in Toronto. Nowadays I am an early riser.  I am out of bed at 5.45, maybe my jet lag period is not yet done. I came back from London two days ago. Time in Toronto is five hours behind the time in England. We humans are not robots. It takes time for our body to make adjustments. We don't have to push ourselves. Just go with the flow.  Not the end of the world. Keep in mind that we have twenty four hours in our hands. We have to keep our plans ready to fill in all the columns in our day schedule. At our age we are done with our work and with raising our kids. We are free to enjoy our own time. Not answerable to anyone except to God Almighty.  To be a couch potato is not good. It spoils our physical as well as our mental well-being. Doing nothing will make it easy to think of negatives.  Try to find hobbies. Keep in mind...

With love from Canada

Image
It's the 24th of August 2025. Today is the first morning for me in Canada after six weeks. Home sweet home. We always miss that.  Sometimes we don't, much. Travel nowadays is so common. It is a small world now. Things have now changed from that in our time. Travel is very common, still families are far apart. Not able to make plans to see their loved ones. Kids like to travel to their favorite places with company of their choice. Their parents are busy with work and family. No time to plan to see their parents. We, parents, are at the later stages of our life. For us it's tough to go to visit them. We still try our best to connect with our kids and grand kids. Don't know for how long we are able to make that.  Every trip looks like that, this is the last one. May God keep us mobile to give us strength to make it for some more times. My trip to England is like a dream. With our loved ones every place looks wonderful. Every day with moments to cherish. My...

Back to Toronto

Image
My trip to England is done one more day to be here. It's 6.30 in the evening.  I am sitting in my daughter's back garden. Pigeons are on the tree top in front busy talking. I think they are trying to say goodbye to me in their own language. Pink and red roses adding up the color. The atmosphere is loaded with all sorts of aroma. I can feel the fragrance around.  The white cat with black spots is sitting quietly on the side wall of the garden. Such a beautiful scenic atmosphere to behold. Moments to cherish. Every city is unique with its own beauty. I see pigeons walking around everywhere in London. I will miss them in Toronto. Cafes also look quite different here. Not like in my city Toronto. We have to feel lucky to be around in various places. To be with different cultures is a novel experience. We humans are the same, scattered around the world. It doesn't take long to get along. I am leaving England with mixed emotions. Toronto is my home. Three o...

On the road to Camberley

Image
It's the 15th of August. Tomorrow I am leaving Grimsby and will be on the road to Camberley to my youngest daughter's place.  Camberley is around four hours drive from Grimsby. My daughter is coming to Leicester to pick me up. It will be halfway for her. My daughter, the middle one, will be driving me from Grimsby to Leicester. Halfway for both of them. Communication always works to sort things out. To communicate, understanding and good relationships matters a lot. Things might get complicated otherwise. To convey your message in a true sense, we have to be on the same wavelength. It also has to be very clear for the person we have to communicate our message that it's a fair deal. We are not taking any advantage.  Message has to be proposed not imposed. We also have to be open minded to listen to the other person’s proposed idea. We Humans are social animals. We need relationships. Nothing works one sided. There is always give and take. Same works t...

Paris On Road

Image
It's 13th of August, I am back in Grimsby. Done with my trip to France. It was short and sweet. Just for two days in Paris. Three of my four daughters were there.  I missed one of my daughters, the eldest one. She lives in Edmonton, Canada. Too much for her to make it. My son was also there. He took a direct flight from Toronto to Paris. They all arranged the Paris trip for me, and were there with their families. One of my  granddaughters was with her five months old baby. Four generations were there. Amazing. We were in Paris for two days. Sometimes time freezes, sometimes flies too soon. It all depends on the company. Company is everything that matters. The people around you make a difference in changing your mood. It doesn't matter, they are family or not. They have to be like minded. People who are not on the same wavelength will ruin your day. Time freezes at that time. Try to pick the right company, especially while going on trips. You will be stuck...

I am on a road trip

Image
It's the 4th of August, a rainy and windy day. Gusts are around 35 to 40 mph.  I usually walk in the back garden before having my breakfast, Not possible today. I tried that couple of times. I was about to fall down due to strong gusts. Health and safety has to be our first priority at any age. At our age, we have to be more careful. We don't have much strength with an old body. Anyway, we have to accept whatever is there. I am sitting by the small round table in the kitchen. Having lunch with my daughter. I like this spot. It is closer to the large glass panels. I can enjoy the entire view of the garden. It's raining. Not a heavy rain, just a drizzle. Pink roses look happy. I think they are also enjoying the view. Two pigeons are walking on the lush green grass. It's too windy with strong gusts. I can't go outside to have a feel of all that. I just had lunch with my daughter. Now I'm getting ready to go grocery shopping with my daughter. Tomorr...

With Love from Grimsby

Image
It's a mixed sunny cloudy morning. Grimsby is a bit cooler than the temperature in London.  I am wearing my light jacket while walking in the back garden.  White Butterfly is whispering to the red roses. I think talking about something personal. White butterfly looks a bit shy. I don't have to go closer. Not a good idea to intrude on their privacy.  Red roses look happy. I think they two are close friends. White Butterfly used to come more often to share her moments with these beautiful roses. I think not we humans, all the creatures have emotions. They are not robots. They are much better than us in so many ways. Always come forward to spread happiness, to brighten our day. It's 12. 45, I am getting ready to go to the Freshney shopping center with my daughter. This is the only shopping mall here in Grimsby. Sun is just awake, now out of his grey blanket. In Europe the climate is much different. Not like at my place in Canada. Here the flowering ...

Kent to Manchester

Image
I am out of Kent, in Grimsby now at my other daughter’s place. Grimsby is a tourist town two hours driving distance from Manchester.  She lives twenty minutes from the beach. The weather is great, slightly cooler. It's 8.45 in the morning. I am sitting in the garden wearing my navy blue light jacket with a sky blue pattern. This is my favorite one. I bought it years ago from Oxfam for five pounds. Sometimes items click to your taste. Doesn't matter whether it's from a high class store or not. You go for that. Canada has more land and not much population. England on the other hand has more population and not much land. Houses here are not so spacious as compared to Canada. Same with gardens. The front and back gardens are not big, but look very beautiful. I am in the back garden of my daughter’s house. Pots are lined up with a variety of flowers. I see yellow roses with an orange tinge. Pink roses with a special fragrance. A big pot full of yellow flowers ...

Pigeon looking for company

Image
Beautiful sunny morning. Rain has taken a day off. My days in Kent are about to be over.  My other daughter, the middle one, is coming tonight from Grimsby to pick me up.  Lucky me kids are not sick of their old mom yet. I have to appreciate their kindness and salute to their patience. At the later stages of our life, it's not easy for kids to track their parents. They are in a different time zone.  It's great of them to take some time off to be with us to give us company.  It's 8.15 in the morning. I am in the garden. My daughter is  in the kitchen making veggie omelets for breakfast. I am having my honey drink to start my morning.  One teaspoon of honey in warm water. I start my day with that. We can start what we like to brighten our day. Pink roses are looking great in the earthen pot by my left side. Scarlet red flowers smiling in the pot in front. One pigeon is wandering in the garden. Maybe looking for his friend to meet here...

Roses smiling in garden

Image
It’s a hot and breezy day sort of mix and match. It reminds me of the beautiful piece of writing from Charles Dickens, “ It's one of those days when winter is in the shade and summer under sun “ .  I don't remember how many times I repeated it in my Blogs. Some writings are forever. Stay fresh to touch your heart. Simple, you can relate to it all the time. Never stale, never look outdated. I am not a person of the past. Don’t like to look back to turn the pages. I believe to be in the moments in hand. Looking back you feel frozen, can't go ahead to move on. The past is like a magnet, you can't get out of it. You have to stay there to wander around. Sometimes you get caught. Same happened with me. I caught up. The day before I switched on my computer to open up my Facebook messages.  I was feeling like I was frozen. My mind was blank. My eyes were caught up with the message. Today is the day of my late sister's birth...

I am out of Town

Image
Day is bright and beautiful. Breezy morning. Sun is shining in full bloom. Weather is great, perfect and not too hot. My sleep was good too. I am done with my breakfast. I changed my menu here in England. Oatmeal is at a break. Switched to raisin bread and stir fried egg with half a cup of milk. I take Coco pop cereal like snacks with no milk. I know I am having too much. It's like a big breakfast for me. Doesn't matter. We can enjoy whatever we like to have while we are having vacations. Just changed my menu to have a feel. It's 10.30, my daughter is at work. I am sitting in the garden. No red lilies for now. Its flowering season is done. Rose pink and white flowers look great in big pots. There is so much green all around. Big yellow flowers of I think Zucchini are smiling in the left corner of the garden. My granddaughter is working from home. I don't have to bother her. I am sitting in the corner under the shade of tall trees at my favorite spot. W...

From Camberley, England

Image
I used to write my Blogs at Tim Hortons when I was in Pickering, Canada.  Here in England, I sit beside flowers. Beside the red lilies and white roses in the back garden of my daughter to write my Blogs. It's a perfect spot. I pick my tablet and enjoy over there. England is under a spell of heat wave so for now to go for a walk is not a good idea. There is no coffee house or Plaza nearby. I take my chances to get out to change my scenery whenever I can. Yesterday my grandson was going to Gym. He dropped me at Costa. So nice of him. I was there at Costa at 1.30. My daughter picked me up around 5 pm on the way back from her work. I got my Sudoku and word search books. I also got my notebook to jot down these beautiful moments. Spent here with my daughters in England. To lock up in my memory box to enjoy later. It's hot today, 31 C. No air. I am sitting in the garden at my cozy spot in the shade under the tall trees. We have to manage to enjoy our moments. Have t...

Lucky me

Image
I am in Camberley, England. It is too hot today. This is my youngest daughter's place.  She has a beautiful small cozy back garden. I have set up a chair under the tall trees, beside blood red lilies in the shade. I used to sit there most of the time. It's a nice breezy corner. Not today. I have to go to my room and switch on my fan. The room my daughter set for me is also great. There are two side tables. One is beside my bed, the other one in the corner at the back. She put a table fan on it. Small writing desk for my computer is beside the window. I can see tall trees through the window. So much green to enjoy. She has four kids. Two boys and two girls. They are not kids anymore. All are working. The eldest daughter is married and has one four-month-old baby girl of her own. It's Saturday, they all are here for me. So nice of them. Lucky me. We had lunch together. Family is family. I gathered the beautiful moments to cherish and to lock up in my memory bo...

Moments to be locked

Image
It's a beautiful morning in Camberley, England. Not so hot, bright sunny breezy day. It is 11.30, I am sitting in my youngest daughter’s back garden. So much green is around. She loves to track her garden.  Blood red Lilies, rose pink, white pinkish Purple and bell shaped white flowers, all are happy, smiling. Grass is lush green. There was rain for a while yesterday afternoon. I came here just about a week ago from Toronto. Looks like I live here, I am all set. I was a bit nervous while starting my journey. I think it's not my fault. At our age, so many things start coming up. Traveling adds up pressure. Anyway I am all settled. There is no nearby coffee house or Plaza, like Tim Hortons and Metro, in Pickering. My daughter is working, goes at 7.30 in the morning, comes back at 5.30. She is in Private school, with longer hours. I have to manage my day on my own. My grand kids are also working. One the youngest one is here on his uni vacations. He keeps track of...
