Glass Half Full Not Half Empty
Rainy day hazy cloudy morning 12 C but feels like 6 C as sun is hiding
somewhere underneath the dark clouds. Not raining so hard sort of heavy
drizzle so I can see lots of birds. For the last couple of weeks there were none.
I was thinking they all gone to South of the Border and not be back before spring. Now they are here, I think came to pick up some of the stuff, left behind.
I am working part time Darts only no Bowling today. Sunday was very busy for me, in the morning I was busy watching TV show and with my computer. My Eldest was leaving for his Uni.
I was making pancakes for him but everyone wanted fresh pancakes so I did it for the whole family. It gives you so much happiness when you have a feel that you still can do it and people still enjoy your cooking.
My middle one I mean Slurpee Boy had his inter school Deca competition from 1 pm to 4 pm in the city of Whitby. I opted to go with him. It is always better to get out rather than sitting at home. It took longer so I was back at 6 pm.
I knew that it will be whole day. Also when you are tired, your sleep always
get disturbed. But my Dear everything comes in package I knew all that
might happen so no surprises.
On top when we are getting older so many things start coming up. You wont
be getting good night sleep anyway. We have to ignore these petty matters
and focus on things, which are positive.
Think about "Glass half full. Not half empty". You will always be getting
happiness from around. There is always something there to make you happy.
Dear Retirees I think you people didn't get my message clearly. Joint family living is not easy for anyone in the family, not only for we seniors. I believe we have to make contributions in the family unit we live with. Don't worry about my making pancakes. I love that.
Dear Kris Father is fine. You gave me a full list of things, he is having in his breakfast. Please ask him not to watch TV whole time. Niklas has to have his play time. It is not fair with him. Don't do any party please. Father is OK. Don't you worry about him. I am worried about Niklas.

Dear Madam Smile, you so good. You write good to. I go job worker 2 and say her how you? She say I head hurt, get me coffee. I say ok but I need go to Supervisor to clear up situation. She say what you mean? I say I need tell her that Madam no tell me write good morning and bad morning in report but you did. She say I tell you my head hurt and now you tell me this. What point clear it with Supervisor because you already get your job. I say ok but I do so much extra work for you. She say I thought that we friend. If you no want do work it ok. I say but you trick me. She say do I trick you celebrate you job? I say no. She say, did I trick you bring cake? I say no. She say did I trick you save you job with Supervisor? I say no. ReplyDeleteThe retirees did not go for our long walk today. This walk, though very long for us, is nothing compared to the walks that you have. Though we did not have a walk yesterday, we were very tired.
The retirees are perplexed that how come you are making pancakes for the ENTIRE family. Retirees do not make anything, even for ourselves let alone any family member. The retired chef said that making pancakes is challenging work. It involves making the pancake mix and then frying them. One retiree pointed out that there are ready made pancakes available in the stores. All you have to do is put them in the toaster and serve them. The retirees thought that even that is not easy to do for the entire family
The retirees thought that Master Golden is the middle one so you probably went with him as opposed to Slurpee boy. We made this assumption as Slurpee Boy is probably too young to participate in inter-school competitions in far off cities. The retirees are not sure if you meant that you went on the same day when you toasted the ready made pancakes for the family as we don't think that it is possible. You probably would be taking the time to rest in the afternoon

ReplyDeleteWe read your blog at the SRC today. The faculty of dentistry was invited to the reading today. Before the reading started, we overheard one of the senior dentistry professor saying that this will be a boring event, similar to the ones that we are asked to go to by the university executive team. But as the reading started we could see an immediate transformation. At the end of the reading, he went to the Dean and asked if he can be here tomorrow as well, the Dean politely told me that he has to wait for the turn as there is another faculty which is to visit tomorrow. One of the students approached him and asked what does the blog and dentistry has in common. He replied that first that's what he thought the same thing but as the blog was read, he realized that it is about life in general and dentistry is a small part of that. He said that your folksy style makes it a really fun read. He then asked us why the Dean stood up for the reading . When he found out that he stands in silence with his head bowed down, he said that the Dean is a wise man. We all should be doing the same thing
The students from Asian countries are having a challenging time with our parents. They ask them for the exam results, if the students tell them what they are then they start lecturing the kids about how they can do better. We just don't understand this mindset.

Me say Niklas that he take father walk in morning because air fresh but he say he get late skool. Me yell him because he wake late and only 1 hour before skool. He say all Niklas wake 30 min before. Our VP of Finance referenced this blog and pointed out that as we look at our corporate records, we should take a page from the concepts that you have outlined in your blog. He clarified that we should package the information to indicate that the glass is half full . In other words, present a more positive view of our corporate performance to our investors and shareholders
