Thought Of The Day

Beautiful morning. Sun shining in full bloom. Some snow is still there, reminds that winter was just couple of days ago. Grass is green with some brown spaces in between. Skeleton trees are no more skeletons, look like, they are coming back to life.  My friend, the Black Squirrel is back for his exercises on the wooden fence of my back garden. Glass top of my garden table is shining, washed and clean. Same is my deck. Thanks to the rain, for the last couple of days. "Twin Towers", I mean the two tall trees on the front garden of my next door neighbor, is under renovation. I think, getting ready to lease out it's apartments. Birds already, start coming to contact. It is a good location, will be rented out soon. It is Tuesday, all are gone to work. My son is busy with his meetings and computer. I am sitting with an empty nest, thinking about the days of my grandsons school time. They used to go with me for Slurpee. especially my youngest one. Now everyone of them, is drivin...

    It is 23rd of March 2023 Days are passing quickly. Nearly quarter of the New year is about to go. Same is with our life. Moments go on slipping from our hand, for never to be back. We have to value what we have. Present moment is everything. Things change so quickly, the thick slab of ice is gone, not anymore on the glass top of my garden table. Deck is also cleared off, not much snow over there.  Lush green grass is looking beautiful on my front garden. Red wooden bench is shining, at the left side, under the Magnolia tree. Magnolia tree is getting ready for it's early budding season, to give color to my garden. Some snow is still there, at sides, like a silver lining, giving beauty to my garden. I can see flock of birds on the hazy sky. I think, they are now back from South of the Border. They know, it is time to enjoy here, time to travel back home. It is drizzling since morning.   March 19th 2023 It is cold bright morning, 9 C, wind gusts 57 km /h, planning to go for my walk to enjoy my coffee and my time alone slot. I changed my mind, not safe to walk. It is too windy. We have to do things, keeping track of our health and safety. Health and safety, always priority. My son is going to "Home Depot", I will go with him. He will drop me at Coffee House, on the way back. We have to coordinate, have to make adjustments, to make our day. Try to get out, whatever slot is available, just take it. It is 11.15, I am at Home Depot. My son is busy with his own things. I am walking around, enjoying my window shopping and the plants section. It is 11.45, I am at Tim Hortons. It is quiet here. Lots of tables are empty. Couples of families with kids, are here, I think, on the way back from their Church Service. It is too early for Teenagers, they will start their day later on.   March 14th 2023 Beautiful sunny cold, windy morning. Snow is all around. It is 17 C below zero, wind gusts around 60 km/h. I was planning to go for my walk to Tim Hortons, to enjoy my coffee and my time alone slot. I think, it is too risky to walk. I don't mind cold, but it is too windy to walk. Sometimes things not in our favor. We have to keep our plan two ready, to switch. Nothing is end of the world.  I have to do one small load of my laundry. I did my bed sheets and towels laundry yesterday, so don't have to worry about that. I am done with talks to my daughters. Two of them, my youngest one from Reading and my middle one from Kent, made a group call. They talked about their school matters, to share with me. I enjoyed. You feel good when kids talk about their own matters, it looks, you are still part of your kids lives. You feel lucky.   It is 8.30, 13 C below zero. Lots of snow all around. Thick slab of ice is still lying, on glass top of my garden able. It is not going anywhere soon. Couple of days back,  on my front garden  lots of grass was, out of the snow. Now I can't see any green. Snow is everywhere.  Last evening, we got couple of cm of more snow, on top. Now all of my garden is, under a thick white blanket. March never used to be like this, in Toronto. I think, this is all because of the climate change. No choice, just  take it, whatever is there.  Sun is trying to wake up, peeping out of his hazy blanket. Things will change.  Snow will start melting down, a bit.   March 7th 2023 Beautiful morning. Sun is shining up and above, in full bloom. It is cold, feels like 13 C below zero with gust around 60 Km. Couple of days back, there was a big snow storm. We had 30 Cm of the white stuff. Now heaps of snow is all around. Glass top of my garden table, is loaded with a thick slab of ice. March already started, I think, that's it, we won't be getting any more of snow. We are done for the year. Hope so. It is 9.30, I am sitting now in my room with my computer, going through  Facebook messages from friends and family. Today, I have to do two loads of laundry, also have to change my bed sheets. I believe family and friends, always come first. My laundry can wait.  One of my grade five childhood friend, lives with her daughter in Perth, Australia. She writes message to me every day.   Beautiful morning, sunny bright and cold, still better than yesterday. It is just 2 C below zero. Not much for we Canadians. Today is the last day of February. New year is not new anymore. It is already two months old. I was back from Edmonton on Saturday night. Not only survived in 40 C below zero, also enjoyed my, about a week trip. To be with your loved ones, is always amazing.  My daughter's wedding was nicely done. It was on low scale, just inner family members. Siblings of my daughter and from the groom side. Event was on zoom, easy for everyone. It is a small world, still not too small. Not possible to be in person for everyone.  People working in different parts of the world. Sometimes, even working and living in the same country, still hours apart. My youngest sister passed away last year. Her two daughters live in States. One in Denver, the other, in Boston. Besides, everyone has his own work structure. Zoom works for everyone. I was back in Toronto on Saturda...

I'm done with my breakfast at my hotel, getting ready to leave for my daughter's place. The groom, my daughter is to be married with, is here too, with me. My daughter gave one of her cars to my son to commute. It will be easy for the groom too as he is staying at the same hotel. He is a nice guy. He is my youngest daughters brother in law, use to live in London, England. We know him for years. My daughter, to be married lives in Edmonton, Alberta.   21st February 2023 Beautiful morning, cold and sunny. It is 16 C, feels like 27 C below zero, will be 34 C below zero, later on. I am in Edmonton, staying at Argyll Plaza Hotel. It is 15 minutes drive from my daughter's place. It is 8.30 morning, I am going  downstairs, to Lobby, to have breakfast. It is continental breakfast, simple one, still everything is there. Variety of muffins, bread, Cereals, Juices, Boiled egg, Fruit yogurts, Tea, coffee, Butter jam and honey. What else, we need. It is more than enough to enjoy our morning. We, I mean, me and my son, will leave after breakfast, to my daughter's place. She is working from home, will be busy with her work and meetings.   17th February 2023 It is 8. 10, in the morning, I am sitting in my eat in kitchen, enjoying my breakfast, oatmeal porridge, stir fry egg, a sip of orange juice and my morning cup of tea. Enjoying the scenic view of my back garden too. My deck is all dusted with white powder. Two days back, it was loaded with a thick slab of ice. Yesterday, it was shining, all washed, thanks to the rain, all day. Today, it is displaying a total different scenario. Nature is amazing.   14th February 2023 Beautiful morning, sunny and bright, 3 C, not below zero. Amazing, like a real summer, for we Canadians. Yesterday, was my work day. We don't have car on Mondays. All go to work. My daughter in l aw, also goes, to work in person, on Mondays and Tuesdays.  My trip to Edmonton is getting closer day by day. My flight is on Sunday, the 19th. My sister in law, wife of my elder brother, invited me for a family  dinner,  at her place,  on Saturday, the 18th. She lives in Aurora, around an hour drive from my place, Pickering. It will be too close to my flight. Last minute packing, always to be done, a night before.  Anyway, family is family. It is always a priority. I take, calls and invitations, like signals from God. For we humans, to connect, to strengthen our relationships with fellow being.   February 10th 2023 Beautiful day. Mixed sunny cloudy morning. It is 8.45, 2 C, feeling like 6 C below zero. Glass top of my garden table, is shining, clean. Thick slab of ice, on it's top, is all gone. Thanks to the rain yesterday all day. It started early morning and was on, till late night.  I am in my room, getting ready to go to work. My Darts today. Snow is still around, not completely melted away. Gardens of the houses across, are still loaded with ice, while,  I see lush green grass on my front garden. No more snow there.  I think, it all depends on the direction of sun.  It is 9.55, I am in library, ready to play. We are twelve people altogether, will pick numbers, to make four teams of three players each. We will play on two Dart boards. Tea and coffee is ready.   February 7th 2023 Weather is cold, still much better than the last week's 36 C Below Zero. That cold wave is over now. It is 2 C below zero. Nice weather for we Canadians, in Toronto. Last night my sleep was not good. I was, of and on, with my computer. Started my day a bit late. Things happen at our age. We have to be patient. Try to tackle, whatever is there with grace. Nothing to worry about.  Yesterday, I did two loads of my laundry, changed my bed sheets. My hair wash is also done. Have to check my list of  "Things to do", for today. It is nice weather, I am planning to walk to Tim Hortons, also planning to sort out clothes for my trip to Edmonton on 19th.   February 3rd 2023 It is real cold today, 22 C below Zero, feels like 33 C below. Cold wave is here  for couple of days. Tomorrow will be much better. Anyway, we Canadians already learned our lessons, to survive and cope with all this. No worries.  It is morning, 8.15, Kids getting ready to go. One of my grandson, the Master Golden, my middle one, already gone to work. He starts at 7.30. I have to go to work too.   January 31st 2023 It is a cold morning with 16 C below Zero, feels like 21 below. It will be colder day by day. Friday showing 27 C below zero, feels like 35 below. It will match with the temperature at Edmonton, at my daughter's place. I have to go to Edmonton on 19th, don't know what will be there, waiting for me. I was never there in February. Let's see.  Snow is everywhere, here in Toronto too. My red garden chair, in my back garden, is full of the white stuff. Glass top of my garden table, is loaded with  thick slab of ice. My deck is covered under thick white blanket.  It is just, matter of couple of weeks. Things will change. March will be, with total different scenario.  Every season is unique, with it's own beauty.   January 27th 2023 Weather is like a roller coaster. Two days back Skeleton trees were out of the icing and white flowers. Grass of my garden, was all green with just couple of the white stuff patches. Now lots of snow is all around. Trees are loaded with thick icing and white cottony flowers. Grass is covered under thick white sheet. Black Lexus, Red Buick and white Infinity, all are loaded with snow. looking great, with thick white sheet on their top.    January 24th 2023 New year is not new any more. It is about a month old. Time flies, so is life. Days pass so quickly. Present is changing into past, in no time. Couple of days back, there was snow all around. Not any more. Weather is a bit mild so most of the snow is slipping away. I see grass underneath, out of the white sheet. Icing of skeleton trees, is gone. No more white cottony flowers. Snow is still around, not much.  It is 11.25, 2 C, feeling like 5 C below zero. I am done with my breakfast. Done with my hair color. My bedsheets and towels, load is in washer. I did one load of my laundry yesterday. It is good to break up your workings, always become easy to handle. We all have twenty four hours at our credit. Have to manage things around, to ease out our work load and our pressure. At our age, we have to sort out things beforehand.  One thing at a time. Not much pressure to handle.   January 20th 2023 Beautiful weather. Rain was in the morning, just stopped. My Deck is looking great, nice and clean. Grass is green with some light yellow patches in between. It is 8.15, I am in my kitchen, busy making my breakfast. Have to go to work today at 9.30. I co-ordinate my timings with my son's schedule. Not nice to disturb his meetings and work. I know, he is doing his best to make my day. We don't have to push our kids. They are already busy with work and family of their own. We have to understand that. They are our kids and will always be. No matter what. Blood is blood. Have confidence. Trust your kids. We have to admire and appreciate for whatever they can do for we parents.  Please try to avoid making complaints. No one likes whining. It is a very negative behavior. It imparts negativity all around. People start avoiding our company. Start keeping distance. We start losing our loved ones. No one likes to be part of any pessimistic atmosphere. Not their fault...
