Enjoying Coffee and Cookies

Beautiful day. Mixed sunny cloudy morning. It is 8.45, 2 C, feeling like 6 C below zero. Glass top of my garden table, is shining, clean. Thick slab of ice, on it's top, is all gone. Thanks to the rain yesterday all day. It started early morning and was on, till late night. 

I am in my room, getting ready to go to work. My Darts today. Snow is still around, not completely melted away. Gardens of the houses across, are still loaded with ice, while, I see lush green grass on my front garden. No more snow there. I think, it all depends on the direction of sun. 

It is 9.55, I am in library, ready to play. We are twelve people altogether, will pick numbers, to make four teams of three players each. We will play on two Dart boards. Tea and coffee is ready. Variety of cookies are all set on kitchen counter. We will enjoy all that, in our break time.

It is 12.30, I am back, going to have shower. Hot water will ease out my leg problem. My right leg is not in good shape for months. This is our age. We will not be able to get clean slate with our years old machinery. Our body needs so much work to be done. Just try to carry on, with whatever is there. Handle with care and do whatever, we are able to do, to make our day. We don't have to worry much, about these day to day issues. Every morning brings something new to tackle, at our age. Face it with patience and grace.

I will have hot water shower, and use heating pad after. It will be good for couple of hours. I will be all set, ready to do my routine things. It is 1.15, I am in my kitchen, making banana shakes for my son and for myself. My youngest grandson, the Slurpee Boy is back from his Uni. I will make something nice for his lunch. I think, beef burger will be good. He will be happy. Putting smile on his face, I will be happy too.

I take moments of happiness, like flowers. We have to gather, wherever, we can find one. Try to do anything, whenever, have a chance to make someone's day. This will give you inner peace and contentment. Try that, to live happily.

  January 12th 2024 It is around mid of January. Time for us to, start getting snow storms. This will be off an on, for the next couple of weeks. It is 10.15, mixed sunny cloudy morning, windy too. Gusts are 38 to 48 km.  Friday used to be my work day, not today. Kids day camp is going on in the library, at my work place. I am off for the whole week. I have to find my own things to do, to get busy. From Monday, things will be back on track. I will be having my regular work hours. It is 11.45, I am getting ready to walk to Tim Hortons. I take it as my second home. I know that it is cold and windy. I am all set with gloves, stole and three layers underneath my winter coat. I will be fine. Whites Road and walkway is, all clear of snow. I see some white patches of snow, by the side of road, under trees and bushes. This is the beauty of Toronto, snow cleared right away.   July 7th 2023 It is hot sunny morning, 9.15 and already 24 C, feel like 26. I woke up early, done with my breakfast. Talked to one of my daughters, my middle one, called me from Grimsby.  She was going home, done with her work. It was a brief talk. She was busy, picking up her son, on the way from school. My other daughters are still at work. They will call me later on. We talk everyday, not much, just to connect.  I am busy with my computer. No message from my childhood friend. She never skips, must be busy. She was at her son's place in Sydney, was planning to go back to Perth, to be with her daughter. She must be stuck, other matters to be resolved. Anyway we have to find our own, "Things to do", to get busy, to make our day. Don't have to wait for people's calls and messages. I am busy playing Scrabble and Card games on my computer. Computer is sort of Blessing for me. I don't know how my Mom used to pass her time without phone and computer. How come she

  June 13th 2023 Beautiful morning. Great weather. It was raining all day, yesterday. Stopped at late night. I was working, Mondays are my work days. Have to go to play Darts. It starts at 9.30 in mornings. We were thirteen all together. Picked our numbers to make teams. Two boards with four teams. Three players in each. One team was odd, I mean with four. Anyway we enjoyed. Thirteen seniors on a rainy day, out to play, to enjoy time together. Amazing at that age. Gives inner peace. Boosts will power with affirmation that we still can do it. Rain or no rain, nothing can stop, to make our day. I think, will is everything behind your motto. When there is a will, there is always a way to go ahead, to move on, to do what you want. Today is Tuesday, weather is great 18 C, a bit on a cooler side. I am off, not working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Last week I booked my flight to England. My daughters were pushing me for that.
