Today weather is cloudy, hazy day. First Thursday of every month,
we have our club meeting but meeting cancelled as one of our very
old club member's funeral is scheduled today.
I will go to the funeral at 1.30 pm, my friend working in real state
will pick me up. It is 2 pm I am at the ceremony. He was a nice guy
his wife also is member of our club.
She is very tiny short built so I use to say that we are twin sisters
with same height, same weight and same heart. When she plays
darts against me in the team and hits big numbers, I use to
tease her that I will write letter to your parents, something to
laugh, to enjoy.
Today I have to share something with you people, with my dear
readers family that I have been nominated for senior of the year
from my club. They will propose my name to the city of Pickering
I don't think I will get that award as there must be number of
nominees from all over the city, so just enjoy my nomination
that's it. I don't believe anyway that I deserve even the
nomination.

ReplyDeleteI have posted the blog in Smile Corner. Today being Friday, there are a lot of people who are coming. Most people come to read the blog before going home or to the pub. It is a festive atmosphere. The priest is also here. Last night the councilor came with some other officials, they were reading the recipe blog asked for its copies

She now get nominate for Senior. He say that good. I say yes. She help so many people. She go funeral. She talk with Mr. Mayor. She do research. She very knowledge. And now she Senior. Dear Advisor,
ReplyDeleteWe were very pleased to hear the good news. We suspended all our activities today and instead used the time to celebrate your success. The cafe manage gave a special Smile discount and the hospital administrator and the Smile with Smile program committee brought champagne to celebrate. Out of respect for the cafe, we had the champagne outside. A no. of parents, board trustees, retired consultants, the retire police chief and many others joined us for that. They all had one thing to say CONGRATULATIONS !!

ReplyDeleteWe had a special reading of the blog today. The Smile Army bought special cake. Prof George, the bookstore manager and many faculties participated in the festivities. We were all singling well into the night. The police officers were here in their regular clothes and they were also celebrating with us. The great friends as well as the students from the local school were here too. The Dean was here and was smiling. He was seen talking to to the Chancellor afterwards and offering the chancellor the cake. Though he was smiling, he was not looking his usual self. When one senior prof asked him if he is ok, he responded that today its all about Smile and he does not want to talk about anything else. We are somewhat concerned about him

We wanted to take a minute of your time to add our voice to the chorus of the congratulatory messages that you have been receiving from your well wishers. We celebrated your latest success with fruits and little bit of wine. We have taken counsel from our acquaintance and stopped the use of cakes and other sugary substances for these celebrations. Father say you yell father lot today but father no mind because father celebrate you trofy. Father say father Hannah so she make lot Frankfurter Kranz. Father then call all futbol kid and father give them bier and Frankfurter Kranz. Father say he no say father old almost 67

This is what Smile did that in a day or so.
ReplyDeleteShe went to a funeral. She played darts. She was nominated for the Senior of the Year award. She cooked for her grandkids and her lazy bum of a son. She wrote for her readers. She helped a no. of readers. She pardoned the retirees. She walked to Tim Hortons in freezing weather. She probably did a few other things that we are not even aware of!
And most of us, probably do one thing at most
