I say Sorry to Father My
Dear Friend 
but He no listen so now
I do Mind He has to forgive
Me as Today is My Birthday




 It is May the 2nd My Birthday
I am one Year Older I am not
sure about Wiser ?

 I still remember My Birthday
while I was in Ottawa 
I was sitting on an Empty Nest

All of My Daughters were married
and gone so only Me and My Son 

My Son busy with His New Job
at Nortel and also completing His Masters
so very long Hours

I just write down here a piece from
that Birthday of Mine which I posted
in the edition titled " Fireside Dreams " 
Short Stories published by
Canadian Poetry Institute

 " May 2nd 1995 it is 8.30 in the Morning
Mornings in Canada vary a lot from Place 
to Place and from Season to Season 

 You can see broad Day light even at 
5 o' clock in the Morning 

 It is My Birthday Today but there will 
not be any Party My Daughters are married
and away in England My Son in the 
Office for whole Day

 I have to go to Rossland an unknown
place for Orientation to upgrade My skills 
in computers 

 Like Every Immigrant I am passing 
through a series of Settlement stages 
Settlement of Body and Soul 

 I am back now
it is 8 o' clock in the evening I am in
The National Gallery of Ottawa 

 This is a Treat for My Birthday from Myself
to be in the Heart of Downtown is always 
a Nice experience for Me 

 Life buzzing all around You get of a Feel of 
Showering colors sprinkling and splashing
it all elevates Your Mood

 I am Home it is 10 o clock My Son back 
from Work I got a beautiful Birthday Card
Cake and Flowers from My Son
also Phone Calls from My Daughters

 I am feeling Rich and full of Life
I am having My Birthday Cake 
with My Son and enjoying 
Steaming hot cup of Tea

 I am a Widow but still have My Family
I am feeling Young and full of Joy
to enjoy My Life "

Thank You God for Everything

    I have posted the blog in Smile Corner. I also got cake which say Happy Birthday Smile. Customers are coming to read the blog, they are really happy. Some one got a banner printed out and put it outside my shop. It is a celebratory atmosphere here in our town

    I so happy today. I go Mr. Supervisor and say I need go break. He say ok. I get big cake and say on cake Happy Birthday Madam Smile. I then ask all job people to come and cut cake. All job worker come and sing happy birthday song. I cry. Job worker with video kid say why you cry. I say I cry because I happy and I cry because I sad and I cry because I angry. I say I happy because it my Madam birthday. I sad because she spend birthday alone last time and I angry because she only son no take care him. I then go back do work.   January 12th 2024 It is around mid of January. Time for us to, start getting snow storms. This will be off an on, for the next couple of weeks. It is 10.15, mixed sunny cloudy morning, windy too. Gusts are 38 to 48 km.  Friday used to be my work day, not today. Kids day camp is going on in the library, at my work place. I am off for the whole week. I have to find my own things to do, to get busy. From Monday, things will be back on track. I will be having my regular work hours. It is 11.45, I am getting ready to walk to Tim Hortons. I take it as my second home. I know that it is cold and windy. I am all set with gloves, stole and three layers underneath my winter coat. I will be fine.   July 7th 2023 It is hot sunny morning, 9.15 and already 24 C, feel like 26. I woke up early, done with my breakfast. Talked to one of my daughters, my middle one, called me from Grimsby.  She was going home, done with her work. It was a brief talk. She was busy, picking up her son, on the way from school. My other daughters are still at work. They will call me later on. We talk everyday, not much, just to connect.  I am busy with my computer. No message from my childhood friend. She never skips, must be busy. She was at her son's place in Sydney, was planning to go back to Perth, to be with her daughter. She must be stuck, other matters to be resolved. Anyway we have to find our own, "Things to do", to get busy, to make our day. Don't have to wait for people's calls and messages. I am busy playing Scrabble and Card games on my computer.   June 13th 2023 Beautiful morning. Great weather. It was raining all day, yesterday. Stopped at late night. I was working, Mondays are my work days. Have to go to play Darts. It starts at 9.30 in mornings. We were thirteen all together. Picked our numbers to make teams. Two boards with four teams. Three players in each. One team was odd, I mean with four. Anyway we enjoyed. Thirteen seniors on a rainy day, out to play, to enjoy time together. Amazing at that age. Gives inner peace. Boosts will power with affirmation that we still can do it. Rain or no rain, nothing can stop, to make our day. I think, will is everything behind your motto. When there is a will, there is always a way to go ahead, to move on, to do what you want.
