Letter To My Dear Readers

Image
Dear Friends I got comments from you people after long wait. Because of Glitch, I don't get comments every day. I keep praying for everyone of you. Just take one day at a time. Things will be fine. This too shall pass. After all, God is there to watch over us. That is enough. Nothing to worry about. Relax and have patience. Dear Friends in Ireland, I was worried about the situation at the Cafe. My friend, the Councilor is right. Because of Covid, no one picking the mail.  Don't listen to the Priest. No protest please. By the way, he gave your money back or still enjoying with that. Keep your Cafe open. Don't take law into hands. No protest or any such thing. Write another apology letter to Authorities with an humble request for pardon. Get the signatures, send to them and keep the copy please.  Mention that you came earlier, in person with letter of apology, office was closed, because of Covid conditions. Mention the date, if you don't remember, write the week, to cla...

Skeleton Trees The Great

Image
Friday -- Beautiful cold sunny morning with 20 C below zero. Not snowing today but Weather Channel warning cold alert for couple of days. It is 9.15, I am done with my breakfast, having my morning cup of tea, also  enjoying the view of my back garden. Snow is all around.  My steel garden furniture is half covered under the ice blanket. Glass top of my patio table, loaded with thick sheet of snow.  It is 10.15, I am in my room,  sitting with my friend, my computer. It connects me with my family and friends, takes me to various places to enjoy my time. Blinds of my windows, are drawn up. I am enjoying the view of my front garden and also connected to my neighborhood.  My neighborhood is quiet. Cars are not on driveways. They are hiding inside the garage. I think, people are working from home, kids also doing things online. That makes a lots of difference. The nearby Whites Road doesn't look busy too, can't hear much traffic over there. My garden is not a ga...

I Salute You February

Image
Tuesday -- Cold cloudy morning with 9 C below zero. White dust everywhere. More snow to come. Weather channel showing, it is on the way. What you expect my dear. It is Canada and on top, February is getting closer. Not a week away.  I still remember, the time around more than quarter a century back. I was in Ottawa, in the land of ice. Snow floating in lake,  even in the month of May.  My son was busy with his Masters and his work at "Nortel". To pass my time, I joined Oxfam, Immigration Centre and volunteered in Carlton Uni. Started some courses. My teacher asked about the month and date.  It was month of February. She started giving a bleak picture of the month of February.  According to her, this is the month of family disputes, separations and divorces. This month looks, like a tunnel with no light. I  remember all that. But I  don't agree with all this.  Weather and people around, matter a lot in our life. Still, I believe that  t...

We Humans are Great

Image
Friday -- Beautiful mixed sunny cloudy cold morning with 8 C below zero. Not bad for here in Toronto. Nowadays my schedule more or less is the same. Going to lake, to walk around, busy with kitchen matters and with my computer, browsing messages and making calls. I am fine with my schedule.  Anything to get busy is always good, to distract you from thinking negative. It is better to chalk out your day plan, to live in day tight compartment. This helps to get rid of so many negative things, which are enough for us, to feel down and depressed. I still sometimes recall the days before this Covid episode, which changed everything, the entire world is sort of upside down. No more travels, no more family visits, no more visitors. Stay home, to be safe.  This too shall pass.  We have to follow the rules. This is for our own safety.  I recall the days when I was working full time, going to library, sort of my work place, to play Darts in mornings and Bowling in the af...

Era of Our Golden Age

Image
Tuesday -- Beautiful cold sunny morning with 8 C below zero. White stuff is all around. Must be snowing early morning. Yellow garbage truck is at my door. Today is garbage day in our neighborhood. Green grass of my front garden is covered under the white blanket. Red wooden bench shining on the white floor. Looks a very quiet atmosphere around. Skeleton trees are also quiet. Cars sitting on driveways, waiting for order. It is 10.15, I am done with my breakfast, now in my room, sitting with my computer, browsing Facebook messages. My youngest daughter called me from Reading. She was just back from school. It is already afternoon at her place. She is in different time zone, five hours forward than of our time here in Toronto. She was busy. With kids, work and looking after bed ridden in laws, not easy. I salute her patience.  We had a brief talk, just to connect. We parents have to realize that our kids are busy, so many things to do, to deal with. We don't have to put them on the sp...

Open Letter To My Dear Readers

Image
I got your comments yesterday. Two days after I posted my Blog on Friday. Things not looking good. I am worried about you people.  Dear Friend in Ireland,  I am not happy with the Priest. He tricked you to get your savings. He takes Church as his personal property. He wants funds, to beautify the place, just like his own mansion. He forgets that Church is a place, above from all this. Building is immaterial. It is a place where people come for direct Dialing to God. It is place to get peace and harmony.  Priest wants people around to deliver his speech. To elevate his personality, to feel good. Church is higher place, above to all this. Number of people doesn't make any difference. The only thing matters is the purity of heart and purity of soul.  Take your money back from the priest. Offices are closed because of Covid conditions.  It is not your fault.  Now write the apology letter, get signatures of as many people as you can. Hope my friend the Co...

Sometimes Better to take Exit

Image
Friday -- Beautiful cold cloudy morning with 5 C below zero. It looks, there was rain early morning. I can see it's traces on driveways and road around. Snow is still here but the amount of the white stuff looks diminishing day by day. Still a lot. Sun peeping out from the under, smiling through the steel grey sheets.  The green grass is still with yellowish tinge but looks full of life. The skeleton trees around look confident with hope and thinking of days ahead. I think they got some assurance that i t is just a matter of time. T hings will change after couple of weeks. All credit goes to Sun the Great.  His  smiling face was able to make all the difference. Changed entire outlook of the atmosphere.  Anyone can make a difference, can put smile on the faces around.  It is 10.30, I am done with my breakfast, sitting in my room. My computer is in front. Blinds of my windows are drawn up. Sun rays trying to enter through the windows, to make my room bright...

This Too Shall Pass

Image
Tuesday -- Beautiful cold cloudy morning with 8 C below zero. We know it will be below zero for couple of more months. Things will be changed from mid March. There is always light at the end of tunnel. We have to have patience. "This Too Shall Pass". For now we are trying to enjoy with whatever is there. I mean dealing with Covid and with our freezing weather, here in Canada. I was at Petticoat Creek, last evening.  People were walking on the frozen lake, playing hockey and were busy with ice fishing. Others were walking around, some with dogs, some with company, some enjoying their time alone slot.  Firetruck was there too. I think to check the safety of the people, who were walking on the  surface of the  lake.  My son forgot to bring his Cleat, so missed walk on ice. He is planning to do that today. I am enjoying my walk too, by the frozen lake. All bundled up, in layers. My maroon sweater underneath my long black winter coat.  The coat, my grands...

We and our Mood Swings

Image
Friday -- Beautiful bright sunny cold morning. It is 17 C below zero. This is beauty of Canada that even in cold freezing, biting days, sun is there with smiling face, to balance out the situation. To dilute the intensity. I think that is  enough to change the scenario. We Canadians start getting ready to walk on the freezing lake, to skate, to play hockey, to walk our dogs. Things look like nothing happened. Glass starts looking like half full. Not half empty.  Anything around is more than enough to make a difference. Same thing happens with the people around. Our company, our friends and also the people in our household, everything matters to change our attitude.  Attitude is the key. Life is the same. It all depends, how we take it. How we look at things around. Things can ruin or can make our day. Not only the things and people around are the key factors for how we take our life but our inner weather also matters a lot. We Humans are very complex. Not Robots. O...

Sun left the Horizon

Image
Tuesday -- Beautiful mixed sunny cloudy morning with 6 C below zero. Not cold for we Canadians. No rain, no snow. It is great. Today I had my dental appointment early morning. My son woke me up for that. So nice of him. This was the first time that my Bio Clock didn't work. I was surprised. It never happened before. It was so reliable. I always trusted my Bio clock for my morning flights and other such matters.  Surprisingly, didn't work this time.  I think I am asking too much from around a century old piece of machinery. I have to be realistic. Next time have to put an alarm for my appointments. I never did before but have to start doing now. We have to make adjustments. Have to make changes in our normal routine life style. Have to go with the flow for smooth running. Nothing wrong with that. Anyway appointment done, lost one more tooth. What we expect from an old piece of machinery.  Still have many left with me. I take it like glass, not half empty. It is half...

Happy New Year

Image
I wish a very happy New Year to all my Dear Readers. Friday -- Beautiful mixed sunny cloudy brand new morning of 2021. No snow no rain, still cold with 11 C below zero. Snow started melting down but I can see so much white stuff all around in my neighborhood.  last night the year 2020 stepped down, handed all of it's powers to the Next one to step in. I stayed in the TV lounge to watch the oath taking ceremony at midnight.  The year 2021 gracefully landed to put it's first step down. It was festive atmosphere with music and fire works. Of course it was different one. Because of Covid, people stayed away. Followed the Directives, stayed home and watched on TV.  We have to follow, whatever is required. Use masks and keep distancing. This is for our own safety and also for the people around. Things are about to change soon. We have to wait. Have patience. This too shall pass.  May this 2021 bring peace and happiness to all of the Creatures of God. Amen.  ...

Waiting Time is a Platform

Image
Tuesday -- Beautiful sunny morning of late December. It is cold, 10 C below zero. Snow piles started melting down. I see the green lawn of my front garden is out of the white blanket.  Some of the white stuff is still there, around my neighborhood.  My friend, the Black Squirrel is enjoying his morning walk, now busy with his exercises on the wooden fence of my back garden. I am getting ready to get out, to enjoy my time too. I know it is cold and windy, I have to dress up in layers. My maroon sweater is underneath my winter coat. Woolen cap. stole and gloves, all, I think, will be enough to tackle the weather.  I will be fine.  We have to take measures after that n othing to worry about. Same is with the Corona Virus. Follow the Directives and things will be fine. My son is not ready, will let me know when to leave. I have to make some calls, will make use of my time for that.  Get busy with things to do, will help you out to deal with waiting time....

Merry Christmas - Happy Holidays

Image
Dear Readers Please follow the Directives.  Keep distancing and use Masks. Follow the Rules at any cost.  Have a Great time and enjoy your Holidays. Friday --  Beautiful Christmas morning with 11 C below zero. It is a White Christmas. Snow is everywhere. I can see thick layer of the white stuff on my garden chairs and on the glass top of the table, on my Deck. Trees are giving a beautiful decorated view all around. Sun is peeping out to have a look of all that. Amazing.  It is 10.30, I am in my room with my computer. My window curtains are drawn up. I am enjoying the scenic view of the world outside. Cars are covered under the white stuff, standing still, on the driveways of my neighborhood.  My neighbor across is busy with his shovel, trying to clear the snow from his car. I think he has to go somewhere. Yes, he has gone.  We Canadians learned our lessons to manage, to live with all this.  Snow can not ruin our plans.  We learned how to en...

Cherry On Top

Image
Tuesday  --  Beautiful cold morning of late December. It is 7 C below zero. Sunny and cloudy mixed morning. Last night my sleep was not good. This is also sort of old age syndrome.  Things start happening at our age.  Started  my day a bit late.  It is 10.45, now done with my breakfast, sitting in my room with my computer. My daughter calling me from Kent. England is under lockdown. Everyone staying home. My daughter, the middle one, called from Grimsby. She was planning to go to London, to see her daughter, who is in "Home". But not anymore. All plans are cancelled for now. My youngest daughter called from Reading. Her daughter was planning to be with her for her wedding anniversary. She lives at 40 minutes drive from Reading. They had big plans to celebrate. Not now.  Things happen. Safety comes first. Everyone has to follow the Directives. Keep distancing and stay away. Things will be better soon. There is always light at the end of tunnel. T...

Lake is now "Skating Rink".

Friday -- Beautiful sunny cold morning of mid December, with 11 C below zero. Two weeks after the year of 2020 will be gone, will be history like the  ones, before. Days are passing fast, quick, so is our life. We are hardly aware of that. Every moment slipping from our hands, is for never to be coming back. Our days which are gone, are gone for ever. We can not turn the page.  Let's make use of our todays. What we have, is everything. Why to waste time in complaining or whining over the spilled milk. I mean why to complain and regret for the things, we don't have. Why to waste time, to compare our life with others, making plans to make lives of others, miserable. Why to feel good to see others in distress.  Let's make plans to stay away from other people's personal matters. Plan not to interfere their privacy. Plan to respect everyone's emotions and opinions. Have patience and to focus on our own self, to spread as much happiness around as we can. Not to take smi...

We learn from mistakes

Image
Tuesday -- Beautiful sunny cold morning with 13 C below zero. It is beauty of Canada that most of the times, it remains bright and sunny even if it is 25 or 30 C below zero. It is 10.45 morning, I am in my room with my computer. My window curtains are drawn up, my computer is switched on. I am enjoying the beautiful atmosphere and also connected with my family and friends too. Browsing the Facebook messages. It must be snowing early morning. I can see the white powder everywhere. The green of my front garden is all under snow, glittering under the sun.  Sun is in full bloom so I can see some green patches started emerging out of the  white. Road displaying a mix of white and grey scenic view, because of the snow. Amazing. My daughter, the youngest one calling me from Reading, England. She was back from work,  called me on the way going home. She knows, she will be busy after, no time for calls. It was a brief talk, just to connect. We have to appreciate for whateve...

Talking from the other side of planet

Image
Sunday -- Beautiful sunny morning with 5 C below zero. Below zero is normal at this time of year for here in Canada. No rain, no snow. That is good enough to enjoy, to get out. We have to take whatever is there. Don't have to wait for tomorrow.  We never know what will be the next. Things change so quickly. Same is our health. It doesn't matter, what age we are passing through during the cycle of our life. Things can happen at any age, at any time. May be, God forbid, we not able to enjoy our normal routines. We have to avail and make use of any opportunity available, at the moment. Done is done. We can not turn the page. Future, we don't know. The moment in hand, is everything, we have. Anyway I checked my table calendar. Today have to wash my hair. I don't do that every day. Not much hair left. We have to be careful with whatever is left, at our age. I did my laundry yesterday. It was due too. This calendar directs me to carry on my " Things to do " time t...

The Inside Child Peeping out

Image
Friday -- Beautiful sunny morning with 3 C. No rain, no snow, no sub zero temperatures, great. Looks like a summer for we Canadians. Time to get out, time to enjoy. My friend, the Black Squirrel is busy with his exercises on the wooden fence of my back garden. He looks very particular, always trying, keeping his body in shape.  It is 10. 30, I am done with my breakfast and with my morning chores at downstairs. I already emptied the dish washer to put everything in place. I spent some time n the TV room to be with my son. He is busy with his work on computer. I made sure not to disturb him. Sometimes just staying with your loved ones, matters a lot. We don't have to talk. That is not required. Our body, our presence is good enough. It communicates in it's own way. Every person has his own individuality. Body emits special rays, which spread peace and tranquility, for the loved ones.  This is a two way process. We have to be sure that the other person feels the same way f...

The Essence Of Life

Image
Tuesday -- Beautiful sunny cold morning with 15 C below zero. For the month of December, here in Canada, we are ready to accept sub zero temperatures. It will be the same scenario for couple of more months.  We know it is winter, loud and clear. No doubt about that.  It is amazing to have a feel of all four seasons.  Night before I was not able to sleep all night, succeeded to have couple of hours of sleep after six in the morning. Last night was good. I think old age is like a mixed plate, like a "Platter". We can not pick and choose, have to take it whatever is there. Old age looks like full of surprises. We can not predict, what we will get the next. This stage of our life is full of shocks, full of thrills. No routine schedules, no set time table. Not like that, in other stages of our cycle of life.  We can write whatever we want, something new. We can change the script of story of our life, to give it more color, to make it more interesting. Amazing. We h...

Sometime Better To Snooze

Image
Sunday -- Beautiful sunny cold morning of early December. It is 7 C below zero, not bad for we Canadians. No snow, no rain. Grass is lush green. Skeleton trees, not shivering, must be enjoying the sun. It is sort of a peaceful atmosphere.  My friend, the Black Squirrel is back for his exercises on the wooden fence of my back garden. He tries to avail any opportunity available, to get out, to have good time. I admire his dedication to look after his body. I think, he believes, healthy mind can not be flourished without a healthy body. I agree with him. My back is not 100%. I know it will take a while. I am getting ready to go to lake, with my son. My Mom used to say, "Never let your sickness to overcome your body ". "You will never be out of it". I remember that, to carry on my day plan schedules.  We don't want to listen to our Moms. We listen when she is no more there. May be she is watching me from upstairs. She must be happy to see that I am following her i...
