Merry Christmas - Happy Holidays

Dear Readers

Please follow the Directives. Keep distancing and use Masks. Follow the Rules at any cost. Have a Great time and enjoy your Holidays.

Friday --  Beautiful Christmas morning with 11 C below zero. It is a White Christmas. Snow is everywhere. I can see thick layer of the white stuff on my garden chairs and on the glass top of the table, on my Deck. Trees are giving a beautiful decorated view all around. Sun is peeping out to have a look of all that. Amazing.

It is 10.30, I am in my room with my computer. My window curtains are drawn up. I am enjoying the scenic view of the world outside. Cars are covered under the white stuff, standing still, on the driveways of my neighborhood.

My neighbor across is busy with his shovel, trying to clear the snow from his car. I think he has to go somewhere. Yes, he has gone. We Canadians learned our lessons to manage, to live with all this. Snow can not ruin our plans.

We learned how to enjoy with whatever is there. We learned to walk on lakes, at the time of winter, when it is frozen. We learned, not to give up. We Humans are great Creatures. We can make adjustments. We know how to survive and also to make our day.

It is 12.30, talks with my daughters done. They were busy with the family of their own. We have to keep in mind that kids not have much time to spend with their parents. They are tied up with so many other things. We don't have to give them hard time. Their calls, don't have to end up in embarrassment for them.

We have to put ourselves in their shoes, so to realize, what they are going through and dealing with. With family and job, not easy to find some spare time for parents. We parents have to appreciate and be supportive with whatever our kids can do for us.

Try to make their day, not to ruin their time, otherwise, they will have no option except to avoid us. We have to find things to get ourselves busy. Have to do whatever we can, to involve with, to spend our own time and have to keep keep away from other people's personal matters.

Respect everyone's emotions and privacy. Have patience. At our age, our nerves, not so strong so need more control on our emotions. This is very important, whether, we live with family or living  separately.

I am deliberately, not writing, living alone. Alone is tricky word, sometimes people take it as lonely. I don't believe in being lonely. It all depends on us, how we take life. No one can make us lonely. We make ourselves lonely, can't blame anyone.

Try to live in day tight compartment, not leaving any space to enter negative thoughts. You will never be lonely. Trust me. Have a Great time, enjoy.

  1. I have posted the blog in Smile Corner. The news got out that you have posted the blog on Christmas day and there was a flood of people outside my home forcing me to post the blog in Smile Corner right away. Even though it was Christmas day, there was a lot people who came. Some even came from far away towns. The local town people brought Christmas pudding and turkey to share. They were offering food for free and saying that it is on your behalf. The situation got out of hand and the priest notified the local police. I had to quickly shut down Smile Corner. There were lot of upset customers but I didnt want to incur heavy fines as COVID-19 cases are rising in Ireland and the authorities are very strict about it. Also, Christmas day is a bank holiday here and the government issues hefty fines if people dont follow it. I hope I didnt get in trouble.

PS Merry Christmas to you too

  2. Merry Christmas. I had to go to the Emergency in the hospital for a close friend who is in the hospital due to COVID-19. There are just too many patients and its good that you have reinforced the need for following the coronavirus prevention guidelines. Coming from you, in your own folksy style, I hope it will make people follow the protocols

  6. Dear Advisor,

The retirees appreciate your blog today. All are wishing you Merry Christmas. The fact that you wrote a blog on Christmas day was very important to us. The retired priest was very pleased and commented that this proves that you are a practising Christian lady. The Hindu temple people sat their with their heads down and didnt oppose him. The Hijab lady and her Sikh people also didnt say anything. They have been coming to the readings more comfortably now as the patrons have been told that no dogs are allowed even in the parking lot.

The restaurant manager took this bold decision in your honour even though he is suspended and days away from being fired by the owners. Most of the patrons are dog lovers so they escalated the stance of the manager immediately after he told everyone that dogs are not welcome on the premises. He was suspended instead of being fired right away because he has been a good manager and if he overturns the decision, then he will be reinstated however he said that he is your fan and will only follow your guidelines regardless of the personal consequences to him. I already mentioned all this previously but as you may not be getting comments, therefore repeating it.

    thank you

  9. We would like to facilitate you and yours during this joyous holiday season. We read your blog with kith and kin to celebrate the day. It was a perfect opening for the day. As we were going through your blog, it felt like we are opening a Christmas present.

As the Covid cases are rising, we are also pouring over your past blogs to see what lessons we can institute from your sagacious authorship to help alleviate the situation. Fortunately we have a team of a few dozen scholars who are going over these blogs. One of the items that they have identified is that we can use your lesson of eating healthy to curtail growing menace of obesity in the populace. We are looking at some programs to determine the most optimum way to bring about this change. One of the proposal gaining interest is to focus on school growing kids as this is an area of interest to you. I apologize for talking shop during the Holiday festivities however I wanted to let you know that your notions are making a big difference.

thank you for making our days brighter

  10. Dear Author,

We read your blog with a lot of interest and excitement at the Smile Garden today. There was a huge celebration. Prof George and Dean were both present and so was the bookstore manager, the chancelor, the students from the local school and the great friends. The police officer provided the security for this. They were in there everyday clothes. Everyone was using social distancing as you ordered us to do.

    You made our Christmas.

    Thank you

  14. This blog is just perfect for Christmas. She has of course written it in her folksy style

"Trees are giving a beautiful decorated view all around. Sun is peeping out to have a look of all that. Amazing”

And the great philosophical and practical advice:
“ Try to live in day tight compartment, not leaving any space to enter negative thoughts. You will never be lonely”

    Brilliant!!
