28th of January, very cold morning with 21 C below zero feels like 33 below. Snow is around. Yesterday it was windy too, that was a bit challenging with blowing snow. My youngest grandson, the Slurpee Boy was in school for in person schooling, must be tough for him. It is very quiet around. Skeleton trees standing, shaking a bit, must be thinking about the time ahead. as February is always the peak for snow and cold. I still remember my days in Ottawa. It was decades back, my son was working for "Nortel", the Iconic company of Canada, which later faced bankruptcy and it's shares went down to pennies. My son was not married. He was busy with work and his Masters. It was quiet at home. I joined school and couple of organisations to volunteer. I was in business class, my teacher asked students, " What date and month is today ". I remember, it was February. She told that February is the month of disputes, family issues, break ups and divorces. She was of the opini...

Take Every Day Like A New Chapter

Image
Beautiful sunny cold morning 17 C below zero, feels like 23 below. These are last couple of days of January. New year is already about a month old. Couple of days back, we had snow storm here in Toronto. Yesterday, it started again since morning. Lots of snow already around. Yesterday's snow was like cherry on top. Now we see snow banks all around our roads and pathways.  Sun is shining in full bloom, trying to put smile on our faces but not able to melt down so much snow. He is trying his best. Whatever he can. We have to learn. Try to help, to contribute, whatever we can. No matter what, never have to give up. It is lockdown situation in Toronto. No eat in dining. No in person office. Schools and essential services like groceries are open with Masks and distancing.   From next week, city opening up things. I got Mail from my Club to start activities from Jan 31st. Hurrah. I told you. There is always light at the end of tunnel. Stay positive, things will be sorted out....

How We Take That Matters

Image
Today, very cold morning of last days of January. It is 31 C below zero feels like 37 below. Sun shining in full bloom. Looking from my window, like one of  Summer mornings.  Heaps of snow is all around in the city and so is in my neighborhood. Roads and Walkways are cleared for public convenience and safety. So nice of all the Frontline workers. We have to salute them for everything they are doing to make our lives easy in this Covid period of time.  40 plus or 40 below zero, nothing matters for we Humans. We make adjustments to carry on our routine activities. My youngest grandson, the Slurpee Boy left for school. In person schooling is now back with Masks and distancing. I think, it is good to be back on track taking safety measures into account. Life goes on, nothing stops. Just have to be extra cautious. That's it. My eldest grandson, the Lucky Guy will also go to work from Monday. People will be back, doing their normal routine activities. Masks and distancing will ...

Tea for my Son Coffee for the Slurpee Boy

Bright sunny beautiful morning with heaps of snow around. It is 23 C below zero with gusts 25 km. Yesterday, we had a snow storm here in Toronto. It started from midnight, keep on going all day, dumped bulk of 50 to 60 cm of snow, stopped in the evening around 4 pm. It took hours to my son to clear off all the mess from our Driveway. Our white Infinity was staying comfortably inside the garage but the Black Lexus was outside, is now deep down under the snow. Anyway it is over, still heaps of snow is around. City will take care of all that. We don't have to worry about that.  My red wooden bench in front garden, looks embedded under snow. Grass no more green, it is all covered under a thick white blanket. Skeleton trees are loaded with cottony flowers, looking great. It is our garbage pick up day. Green, Blue and Grey Bins are lined up on Driveways in my neighborhood.  Driveways are covered,  under white sheets of snow. It looked, all are brushed up with white paint...

Grey Squirrel Enjoying in My Garden

Image
It is a bright beautiful sunny morning. Grey squirrel is enjoying her morning walk in my back garden. Yes it is a garden for now. No more snow. Couple of days back there was lots of snow all around. Now grass is green. This is the beauty of Toronto. Years back, I was living in Ottawa,  in 1994,  my son was working in "Nortel". I still remember, snow floating in lake, even in the month of May. Here in Toronto, we see greenery so often even in winter days.  It is 10.15, I am done with my breakfast, enjoyed my oatmeal porridge, stir fried egg and my morning cup of tea. I am now sitting in my room. My window blinds are drawn up. I can see sun shining, in full bloom, making our day brighter. It looks like a summer though it is very cold, 18 C below zero, feels like 24 below.  My computer is switched on to connect with my loved ones. My daughter  calling me  from Kent. She is done with her work, going back to home. She is living in different time zone. It ...

Red Birds in My Garden

Image
It is Tuesday, bright beautiful, misty morning. Snow all around, like a white clean spotless carpet. It is 17 C below zero, feels like 28 C below. Grass no more green. It is covered under white fluffy powder.   Today is our garbage pick up day. All  grey, green and blue bins, are lined up on driveways. Green and blue bins are picked up every week. The grey ones picked up every two weeks. I salute all Frontline workers for making our lives easy, in this Covid time. We have to acknowledge their efforts. So Nice of them. It is calm quiet atmosphere in my neighborhood. Some cars are on driveways, some staying inside. My White Infinity SUV is in my garage, the other one, Black Lexus is sitting on driveway. White powder sprinkled all over it's body, looking beautiful.  We have two bird feeders in our back garden. Small Red bird and the other one with Red beak, come once a while, to give color to our garden. No plants, no flowers, nowadays. All gone for a winter brea...

Our Wintry Days are Brighter

Image
Beautiful bright sunny, cold morning of first week of January. It is 13 C below zero feels like 22 below. We know couple of weeks will be tough. After mid next month, things will start getting slowly better. We in Canada, are all set to tackle all this. No worries. Just bring it on.  We know there will be silver lining at the end of tunnel. Try to look, to imagine, to dream something positive, always. Make this your habit. Things will always be sorted out. It dilutes the intensity, gravity of your tough moments will be easy to handle. Life is like a Roller Coaster. Just stay positive. No matter what. Days will start looking bright and beautiful.  Nothing can be changed until we change our thinking, our own self. Try to stay away from Negatives. It will only add up your misery, the days will look more bleak. You feel trapped, like no way out. Try to plan your days into slots, to get busy. It will help you to stay on the right track, the track of positivity. Grass on my f...

Things change Life goes on

Image
January already started. New Year is no more a new year anymore. Days are passing so is life. My front and back garden is loaded with white stuff. Red wooden bench is half under snow. Skeleton trees are standing still, around. They know couple of more weeks will be tough to handle. Sky is clear still misty. Sun is hiding somewhere inside. It is 15 C below zero.  Cars staying on driveways, some are inside garage. It is calm and quiet atmosphere in my neighborhood. Yesterday more restrictions announced to tackle this Covid thing. We have to accept and follow all that. This is for our safety, also for our loved ones and for the people around. Two years of Covid already done. We handled things well. This is the third year. We will manage with our safety measures, keeping social distancing and using Masks whenever required. This is sort of usual for nowadays. We Humans are amazing creatures, can adjust in any circumstances. No matter what. It is a different world but I think this...

Letter To My Dear Readers

Image
New Year 2022 already started couple of days back. It is not a New year anymore. Days are passing. Things go on changing, so is life. What is gone, never comes back. Value the presents moments in hand. That is everything. Past is done. Don't have to wait for the future, which is not known. I got your comments after more than a month. It is due to Glitch. I think everyone working from home so it is too much of Internet traffic. Comments are always sort of mixed plate for me. Sweet and sour. It's pity for me that I am trying for years but nothing changed. Everything is the same for my Readers. Then why am I writing my Blogs, for nothing?  I think just wasting my time and theirs too. It is so disappointing to read all that. It reminds me that no one listening. I am wasting time. My friends in Ireland having the same issues every year. People insist to open the "Smile Corner", on closed holidays. Priest goes to the Higher ups, asks them to close the Store. After that th...

She is ok with that. They have special coats and boots to handle that weather. We Humans are amazing, we can mange any circumstances. It is the last day of 2021, tomorrow is New year 2022. For the last two years, it is totally different scenario because of Covid situation. Gatherings and parties are on hold. We have to follow Directives. Don't have to cross Limits

Image
It is mixed sunny cloudy morning with 2 C. Sun is hiding somewhere inside the hazy sky. O n the misty canvas,  I see some beautiful blue sketches, like paintings in water color. What a scenery. Nature is great. We can enjoy every season, every day, all time. Thank You God for Your Blessings. We don't deserve that. Christmas is done. New Year about to give it's entry. Gatherings and parties, all on hold. It is sort of lock down here in Canada. Malls and stores are open with limited capacity. We can't shut down businesses.  It is a changed world. People with Masks and keeping distance, to not to come close. No hugs, no shake hands. Kids busy with computers, so ae we elders. Nowadays it is very important to focus on something positive. Anything, to get busy, to keep ourselves away from negative thoughts, away from thinking low, to not, to be depressed. Everyone is home, not many places to get out. It is a must to give everyone privacy, have to stay away from interfering ot...

I Don't Deserve That

Image
It is Tuesday bright beautiful sunny morning. Nearly end of December. Year 2021 is leaving us with many questions, unanswered, like when this Covid period will end. When we will be out of Masks and start our normal life. This is all unpredictable. For now we have to follow the Directives to ensure the safety for others and also for our own self . This is the only choice we have for now.  Stay strong, have patience and go with the flow. Try to do what you can, to make your time. Have to tackle things with dignity and grace. Ups and downs are norms of  life. This too shall pass. There is always light at the end of tunnel. Stay positive to stay strong. Things will be sorted in due course.  Take one day at a time. Plan your day to get busy with whatever you like to do. Busy with your garden. There are so many indoor hobbies too, to be busy with. Have some pots of flowers or veggies, water and enjoy to watch them grow. Start reading your favorite books / Magazines. Enjo...
