Signals from God
My Readers Family asking
why I was taking care of My
Grade 12 Grandson
Buying Bakery Stuff and keep
running between Library and Home
why My Son or My Daughter in Law
didn't take a Day off
My Dear Friends when We are Retired
means We are now done with our
Life We are sitting on Empty Nest
Living Our Days as Bonus We are
now lonely and on our own
When We are living with Family it
is a Plus as We are not alone now
but please keep in Mind there is
nothing like a Total Plus
There are Minuses attached with
this Package We have to keep in Mind
We are living as an Extra Figure
in the Family Unit
Nobody will kick us out of the House
still be very clear No one needs us
They will be fine without us
We living with our Son or Daughter
have to keep in Mind there is always
one Member in the House not Our Blood
We are a burden in the heart of heart of
that Person these are hard Facts My
Dear but these are Facts and I don't
live in a Fool's Paradise
Now We have to take our Life as a Project
there is nothing wrong with that actually
it is a very positive thing
While taking care of My Grandson I was
working on many aspects first of all
thinking as We are a Family
I am not sitting on an empty Nest
I feel strong and confident that
still I can do things I can handle
Pressure
I can still give a support in some way
to My Kids They can depend on Me
in a way can have a Trust
We need these Push to keep us get going
to help us in giving positive attitude
and to keep us Strong
These are very important in the Days
when We are Old and Retired
this can change the whole Scenario
of Our Life
These are the Moments of enlightenment
the opportunities I take as Signals from
God to Brighten Era of My Days
after Retirement

ReplyDeleteDear Advisor,
ReplyDeleteThe retirees did not go for our walk today because some of our members are still suffering from their very long walk from yesterday. It took some of us 20 minutes of walking yesterday. We however had our lollipop.
Your blog created a big debate within our group and we had a very detailed dialogue about it. The subcommittee on joint family living led this discussion however all retirees participated in this as it is an important item for us. At the end, we came to the conclusion that we will like to humbly disagree with your analysis. The retirees think that for those of us who are living in joint family situations are contributing a lot to our families. We not only contribute practically but also with emotional support. We think that our support is often taken for granted by even our son or daughter, let alone by their spouses. We do agree with your thoughts that we should do more things that we like. We believe that this is the message that you are giving when you indicate that we should do our own projects
Some of the retirees suggested that we go on a one day strike and presented a resolution to this effect however the resolution failed. They then submitted a a motion to condemn our kids for taking us and our support for granted and the motion passed with a simple majority. The motion being non-binding was able to garner more support than the resolution which is binding
thank you again for discussing this important topic
recent retiree
Thank you for being my lifeline.

Dear Author,
ReplyDeleteYour blog created a big debate in our school, specially in the sociology department. The dean was involved in the discussion as well. At the end the professor has asked the students to do an assignment on your blog. The assignment is for the role of seniors at home.
Some of the students who have been part of the research and are frequent participants at the SRC were upset and giving your example. The prof clarified to them that this is not about Smile but the general role of seniors. She pointed out that Smile is not an ordinary retiree, so if we measure everyone with the same "Smile" scale, then majority will not measure up to her standards. At the end, there was no conclusion and will be discussed further during the course of the semester.
Thank you
