Living with our family is a
Blessing a gift from God
with all of it's shortcomings
the most important thing
we are not alone 

Someone is there when you need
to talk to be around to escape
from your loneliness

We don't have to take it as granted
have to handle every situation
with care with patience

 As we are getting Older our nerves 
getting weak so patience not easy
our body is fragile for physical
things to share with our Family

Our hobbies are seeds of patience
we cultivate peace and happiness
out of that the more we try to work
on our Hobbies the more happiness
we get out of our old and fragile
bodies with all our shortcomings
nothing to worry about

Take your family like a Credit Card
which we use when we need but
have to pay it back don't take as
your right to use it don't overdo
keep yourself within limit

We don't have to complain about our
day to day life matters keep in mind
when we cry we cry alone 
when we laugh the whole world
is with us to share and celebrate

When you people talk about
my going to Bank to get money
for my son to get Groceries 
with my daughter in Law trust me
I am paying off my Credit Card

I feel Happy that I have still limit
to use my Card again 
try to do things for your family
you live with to feel happy

Cultivate hobbies to bring
Happiness on our Life Plate 
switch your mind on to light
Happiness light button

Everything is doable as God 
is always there for our help
and to give guidance at every
step of our Lives 
keep in mind we are never alone

      The Toastmasters meeting was a big hit. We time boxed the discussion on Smile's blogs otherwise it would have taken over the meeting.

      Marcy suggested that we start posting the blog in the cafeteria as well. Will provide more visibility there.

      My friend I think you missed the point of Smile's blog. She is not writing about paying credit cards off, she is using this as an example to show us how to live with our family.

      It is good that you are paying off credit cards though

    This is a very deep and thought provoking write up. You are essentially talking about a very significant aspect which we tend to ignore. Paying our dues to family, friends and perhaps society in general are absolutely critical. We tend to take these things for granted. Thank you for highlighting this

    I lost the race to post the blog on our corporate notice board. It was already posted when I went there. In fact there already was water cooler discussion taking place based on the blog between 3 of our 12 member staff ie 25% of our office was discussing Smile (not counting me :-)

    Dear Advisor,

    We met yesterday in a teleconference to study your proposal to us about walking. We all agreed that this is a great idea. As the next step, we are wondering if you can please provide us some ideas and tips about it. For example, how far do you suggest we walk, the frequency of walks, the duration of walks etc? We are asking you as you walk frequently and many of our members are not used to walking. They prefer sitting down and watching TV, or resting. Any advice you can provide will be much appreciated

    As I am writing this, tears are rolling down my face. These are not tears of joy but bitter sadness. Smile, is reaching out to us. She is telling us that how hard she is being asked to do, just to keep things even.

    Smile does not owe anything to anyone, specially to her only son. In fact he owes a lot to her.

    How can in this day and age, Smile is being asked to go get money for him, feed his kids every day and do all those things that she does for him, just to pay off her "Credit Card"

    I think some of us readers are taking this too seriously. Batman and Plunker, please take it easy. Smile is enjoying herself. She is very active. I dont think she is complaining. She is saying that she wants to do all these things. As for her only son, unfortunately, I agree with you.

  January 12th 2024 It is around mid of January. Time for us to, start getting snow storms. This will be off an on, for the next couple of weeks. It is 10.15, mixed sunny cloudy morning, windy too. Gusts are 38 to 48 km.  Friday used to be my work day, not today. Kids day camp is going on in the library, at my work place. I am off for the whole week. I have to find my own things to do, to get busy. From Monday, things will be back on track. I will be having my regular work hours. It is 11.45, I am getting ready to walk to Tim Hortons. I take it as my second home. I know that it is cold and windy. I am all set with gloves, stole and three layers underneath my winter coat. I will be fine. Whites Road and walkway is, all clear of snow. I see some white patches of snow, by the side of road, under trees and bushes. This is the beauty of Toronto, snow cleared right away.   July 7th 2023 It is hot sunny morning, 9.15 and already 24 C, feel like 26. I woke up early, done with my breakfast. Talked to one of my daughters, my middle one, called me from Grimsby.  She was going home, done with her work. It was a brief talk. She was busy, picking up her son, on the way from school. My other daughters are still at work. They will call me later on. We talk everyday, not much, just to connect.  I am busy with my computer. No message from my childhood friend. She never skips, must be busy. She was at her son's place in Sydney, was planning to go back to Perth, to be with her daughter. She must be stuck, other matters to be resolved. Anyway we have to find our own, "Things to do", to get busy, to make our day. Don't have to wait for people's calls and messages. I am busy playing Scrabble and Card games on my computer.   June 13th 2023 Beautiful morning. Great weather. It was raining all day, yesterday. Stopped at late night. I was working, Mondays are my work days. Have to go to play Darts. It starts at 9.30 in mornings. We were thirteen all together. Picked our numbers to make teams. Two boards with four teams. Three players in each. One team was odd, I mean with four. Anyway we enjoyed. Thirteen seniors on a rainy day, out to play, to enjoy time together. Amazing at that age. Gives inner peace. Boosts will power with affirmation that we still can do it. Rain or no rain, nothing can stop, to make our day. I think, will is everything behind your motto. When there is a will, there is always a way to go ahead, to move on, to do what you want. Today is Tuesday, weather is great 18 C, a bit on a cooler side. I am off, not working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Last week I booked my flight to England. My daughters were pushing me for that.
