It is Thursday Chilly Cold Bright Sunny Morning
With 21 Degrees Below Zero -- Yesterday was
Very Cold Too with 19 Below Zero

I was Working Full Time Yesterday So was in The
Library From 9 am I was Back after 3 pm
You Know I Love To Cook To Put Something
On My Dinner Table

Yesterday I Made Zucchini with Tomatoes For Dinner
Had To Leave at 6 pm as There was Mayor's
Light Tour From 7 to 10 at Night To Watch Christmas
Lights All Around The City Of Pickering

It Happens in The Month Of December I Go Every Year
Bus Picked Me up at 7 pm From Library -- There were
So Many There But From My Club Just Couple Of People
Were There -- Our Secretary and One Senior Person

Tour was Great There were Seven Buses altogether
One was From Our George Ash Library
After about Two Hours Of Tour Around The City
All The Buses were Terminated at The Main
Pickering Recreation Center 

This Time Mayor Jumped in Our Bus We Enjoyed
His Company He is Not Only Great Mayor But a
Great Person Too -- We Re-elect Him Every time
He is  The Longest Serving Mayor in The History Of
City Of Pickering

We also Decided The Positions For 1st -- 2nd and 3rd Prizes
Which Mayor Announced in a Colorful Ceremony at The
Recreation Complex with Councillors Staff and All Of us
Sitting There Enjoying Our Time 

Band Playing Live Music with Great Singers -- We were
Also Served Light Refreshment Cakes -- Cookies Cheese and
Crackers with Tea / Coffee -- It was Done at 10 pm

Buses were There To Take us Back To The Library
From Where My Son was There To Pick Me up
It was Very Long Day But I Enjoyed Well

    I have posted the blog in Smile Corner. Today being Friday, there are lot of locals who are here. I have bought extra biscuits as it has become a tradition in our small town that locals come here and read blog before going back to their homes or pub

    I lost the race to post the blog on our corporate notice boards. It was already posted when I got there. Of course, there were a fresh from SDs there with a note that "enjoy these Smile Donuts, courtesy Smile Addict"

      The toastmasters meeting today had an open agenda ie people can discuss any topic that they want but the only topic that was discussed was Smile blog. People wanted to talk about her her kindness to her young readers and recipe blogs.

She say it no big deal because you Madam was in a bus and mayor come in bus. I say her it special bus and mayor was jumping in bus. Also after that my Madam decide on 1st, 2nd prize.     Dear Advisor,

    The retirees were amazed that you went with the mayor of the city to assess the Christmas lighting in the city. The retired corporate executive pointed out that this was a tour which is probably arranged in all Canadian cities however after doing some research via Google, the retired data scientist confirmed that this is not the case. The retirees were amazed that you take these trips on a regular basis despite the cold weather.

    The retired physical trainer noted that you clarified that you go for walks to Tim Hortons. He was very apologetic.The retired corporate executive however said that perhaps Tim Hortons is 2 minutes away from your place.

    The subcommittee about joint family living did not meet today as there was no new information for them to sift through. The retired social scientist and the retired computer data scientist are continuing to be part of this subcommittee. The leadership remains with the retired psychologist.

    We read your blog at the SRC today. Prof George was particularly excited as he noticed that you know the mayor of your city. The Dean smiled and said that you are above these things. Prof George responded that he is happy that you are being recognized by the mayor. The Smile Army is working around the clock to get the preparation completed. They are also working on their studies. The great friends are here too. The students also come to the readings

  January 12th 2024 It is around mid of January. Time for us to, start getting snow storms. This will be off an on, for the next couple of weeks. It is 10.15, mixed sunny cloudy morning, windy too. Gusts are 38 to 48 km.  Friday used to be my work day, not today. Kids day camp is going on in the library, at my work place. I am off for the whole week. I have to find my own things to do, to get busy. From Monday, things will be back on track. I will be having my regular work hours. It is 11.45, I am getting ready to walk to Tim Hortons. I take it as my second home. I know that it is cold and windy. I am all set with gloves, stole and three layers underneath my winter coat. I will be fine. Whites Road and walkway is, all clear of snow. I see some white patches of snow, by the side of road, under trees and bushes. This is the beauty of Toronto, snow cleared right away.   July 7th 2023 It is hot sunny morning, 9.15 and already 24 C, feel like 26. I woke up early, done with my breakfast. Talked to one of my daughters, my middle one, called me from Grimsby.  She was going home, done with her work. It was a brief talk. She was busy, picking up her son, on the way from school. My other daughters are still at work. They will call me later on. We talk everyday, not much, just to connect.  I am busy with my computer. No message from my childhood friend. She never skips, must be busy. She was at her son's place in Sydney, was planning to go back to Perth, to be with her daughter. She must be stuck, other matters to be resolved. Anyway we have to find our own, "Things to do", to get busy, to make our day. Don't have to wait for people's calls and messages. I am busy playing Scrabble and Card games on my computer.   June 13th 2023 Beautiful morning. Great weather. It was raining all day, yesterday. Stopped at late night. I was working, Mondays are my work days. Have to go to play Darts. It starts at 9.30 in mornings. We were thirteen all together. Picked our numbers to make teams. Two boards with four teams. Three players in each. One team was odd, I mean with four. Anyway we enjoyed. Thirteen seniors on a rainy day, out to play, to enjoy time together. Amazing at that age. Gives inner peace. Boosts will power with affirmation that we still can do it. Rain or no rain, nothing can stop, to make our day. I think, will is everything behind your motto. When there is a will, there is always a way to go ahead, to move on, to do what you want. Today is Tuesday, weather is great 18 C, a bit on a cooler side. I am off, not working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Last week I booked my flight to England. My daughters were pushing me for that.
