  1. I have posted the blog in Smile Corner. This being a Saturday, customers are streaming in. They are coming here before going to the market. Some are staying here. Some customers are reading past blogs too. I have made many copies as some want to take the copies home to read with family or coworkers. The priest came here but did not stay for long, he said he has to prepare for sermon. The customers were smiling secretly. One said that he can give his copy to him if he wants to read at home, the priest said no thanks. He did take one copy and took it. All in all, the Satrudays are now really festive for us because of the Smile blogs

  7. Dear Advisor,

The retirees were hoping to go for a walk today but could not as we have had just too much exercise for this week. Basically we walked for almost 10 mins twice this week. The retirees have cramps and one may need to go to a physiotherapist. We therefore decided to not venture out anywhere but stayed home and read the blog individually. Some chose to take the time to go through the past blogs and enjoy them.

All the subcommittee work was suspended today. It will remain suspended until the retirees have a chance to recuperate. This includes the committee for healthy living as well the one for joint family living

One of the retired professional golfer is a valued member of our group, and he was particularly pleased to see your blog today. He could not believe it that you are also a golfer. When inquired, he indicated that he was surprised because he is not aware of any golfer who is an accomplished writer like yourself. Since he is a new member, we had a chuckle at his expense as we are aware that you have many attributes. Since he was getting embarrassed we confessed to him that we also had same misconceptions about you earlier on

    Thank you
    recent retiree

  10. We appreciate your kind comments. We are on the mend now and hope to be back on four cylinders in the next day or so.

We had a couple of visitors to confirm if we are still breathing and as they were expecting, they found us immersed in your sagacious and wise words. After sifting through a couple of them, they were thoroughly impressed. The fact that they are in the business of words, this is no mean feat. It was a little bit of face saving for us as well, since we have been singing your praises to them, and letting them know that the panache that you have is very similar to folks like Herriot, Wordsworth, Maugham and others. They realized that we are not drinking cool aid or anything like that. Between us, they dont have a very flattering opinion about our literary aptitude, so it was good for once that we get a little bit of respect courtesy you.

thank you again for writing and making our day brighter
    Dave and Linda

  11. Dear Madam Smile, I fortuitously came across your blog in one of the local cafes a few days ago. There was a group of great retired people who were having a reading of one of your blog, I happened to be there and since I am taking Literature as a major, I was very much interested. What I heard was simply awesome. Next day I decided to go there again. It was only 1 hour away, so it was an easy decision for me. The trek was definitely worth it. I have not been able to make the trip again during the weekdays as I am enrolled in a local university but I did go there today to thank them, but they were not there today. They did share with me the link to your blog and I have been learning a lot from it. There are some of my friends who do, joint study and we read your blogs together. Sorry I should have written to you earlier, but my courseload is very high these days. The other reason is that it was somewhat difficult to write, as you are so accomplished, and I am just a student

I do want to thank you again. I appreciate your kind words, and picking a pen name for me.

    Regards

    Literature Fellow

  13. Today's blog is another example of Smile's class. Just look at the words she used to describe a commonplace event. And I quote

"As the rain droplets frozen on tree
    branches giving a beautiful
    effect to the atmosphere

    Looks like trees are decorated
    with white small pearls
    Nature is something always
    amazing"

    Simply brilliant!

PS: My apologies for writing so late. I went to a party today and didnot get a chance to write earlier.

    Thanks Smile
