We can manage, we will be fine
Tuesday -- Beautiful bright morning. Windy and cold with 2 C, feels like 4 C below zero. "Feels like" is an integral part of our Weather report. We Canadians chalk our programs, keeping the "feel like" factor in mind.
It is 10.15, I am done with my breakfast, opened my patio door to have a feel of the morning breeze. It was windy and cold, on top I was not properly dressed up to cope the weather. I think, have to go to my room to be with my computer. It is always there for me, like a friend, to have my refuge.
My daughters called me, from Kent and Reading. They were back from work. It was already afternoon at their place. They live in different time zone, five hours ahead of my time in Pickering.
My daughter, the middle one, called me from Grimsby. She got Covid, may be contracted from someone at school. She is now in quarantine. Not easy for the people around in the house as well as for the person, who is suffering. Everyone in the household has to go into quarantine.
Winter time is getting closer. November is nearly done. We know snow and sub zero temperatures are now around the corner. In winter time, my son used to go to Gym. Pickering Town Centre is just across, I used to spend my time in Mall.
Things are now changed. It is quite a different scenario. We have to follow the Directives and do accordingly, to be on safe side, for our own self and for our community.
We Humans have ability to learn, to cope with whatever is there. We know how to coordinate with the situations. We can manage. We will be fine. No worries. Just bring it on, whatever is there.
It is 12.30, I am at lake, all dressed up in layers. Wearing my long black coat, my favorite maroon sweater is underneath. I have my gloves and my stole on. I am all set.
Water is sparkling like Gold and Silver under the sun. It is a quiet atmosphere, here. I can't see many people. No duck, no Swans. I am enjoying my time and the scenic view around. Thank you God for watching over me.

ReplyDeleteI have posted the blog in Smile Corner. I have also instituted social distancing and hired back the 2nd security guard also. As I wrote earlier that one guard is not being able to handle the long line ups. The councillor is happy with the social distancing guidelines are being followed but the priest is not happy about this as he is saying that I don't have confidence in your abilities. I hope you don't misunderstand me as the only reason I am enforcing social distancing is because these are your orders
ReplyDeleteWe held a special prayer session today for your daughter. The entire town came for that.
DeleteI lost the race to post the blog in our corporate notice boards.

The special meeting for Smile's daughter was very well attended. We observed Covid protocol but it was amazing that the senior managers also showed up for the meeting
DeleteKim
We held our cabinet meeting and held a prayer for your daughter. All the executives at all the global and regional offices created a virtual get well card which has been presented to our VP of HR for safekeeping. It sounds a little cliche but we feel you are part of our team and the prayers were the least that we can do at this time

ReplyDeleteDear Advisor,
ReplyDeleteThe retirees did not go for our long walk today. As it is freezing like +15 C. We went straight to the reading of the blog however we could not finish the reading. We got stuck when you mentioned about your daughter getting infected with Coronavirus. We could not believe it. Many retirees were openly crying. The restaurant manager scaled back the desert options as a sign of goodwill.
Your Hindu compatriots took charge and their prayer leader offered the prayers. They have been taking a back seat since your previous comments however today they successfully convinced everyone that due to the gravity of the situation, it should be them and no one else who should lead. The hijab lady and her temple people asked your Indian compatriots if they can hold their prayers as well. They were denied this request but the committee on religious tolerance intervened and they were granted 1 min. They used the time to chant a prayer 5 or 6 times. We were not able to understand it but I think they were talking about Emma You Jeeb or something like that. Emma may be a religious leader for them. The retired priest also did his Christian prayers and we all said Amen. Everyone then left. As is usual, the hijab people waited for 30 mins because of the dogs episode that I told you about 2 days ago.
On behalf of myself and my family as well, please accept our best wishes for your daughter’s speed recovery
thank you
recent retiree
Dear Author,
ReplyDeleteWe read your blog at the SRC. We have been doing the readings here because of the open space. Due to the solemn nature of today’s blog, we canceled all our post blog discussions and held a prayer for your daughter’s health. The Dean led the prayers. The Smile Army were so taken aback by this that they decided that they will not fill the Smile feeders for 3 days. Prof George and Dean asked them to be reasonable. They try to explain to the idiots that the birds rely on these feeders to get their daily nourishments but does not look like anything its getting through their thick skulls.
We found out later that Mrs. Lucy is going to organize a prayer meeting later tonight. As it is expected that there will be 300+ people there, including Professors, Chancellor, Students, Great friends etc, the Dean was asking a professor to inform the police as well. We expect that they will come in normal clothes as they always do for your readings
Thank you

We read with a lot of consternation of your daughter’s Covid 19 prognosis. Though this is a cause for concern, therapeutics are in abundance these days.
ReplyDeleteWe wish her a speedy recovery.
Thank you for making our days brighter
