Kids Grow Up Fast

It was raining since morning, just stopped. Sky looking great. So many shades of blue and grey, mixed up with milky white, are scattered, up and above, on the big canvas of the magnificent sky. Looks like sketches in water color, all around. Nature is amazing. What a beauty to behold.

My deck is all wet, washed and clean. Thanks to the rain. I am walking barefoot on my deck. Sometimes to behave like a kid, is ok. Nothing wrong with that.

My eldest grandson is awake, he is in shower. He came last night from his one week business trip to Halifax. Couple of years back, he was just a baby. Now business trips. Kids grow fast. We have to be there for them, to share our moments, before they grow up and have no time for us, after. I am in my kitchen, making scrambled eggs for him. He will enjoy that.

My youngest grandson, the Slurpee Boy is also awake, just came out of his room. I will make peanut sandwiches for him. I know what he wants for his breakfast. 

We have to feel lucky, while dong things for others. I take it like a duty assigned from God, to be there for others. To make their day, to put smile on the faces around. It is an honor, to be picked up from Him, to get selected for the assignment. More than enough to make our day too. 

It is 11.30, my son is just back from Costco, after the oil change for his black Acura. I am making tea and Omelette, to enjoy with him. He is planning to go to lake. I am getting ready for my walk. 

I think, to enjoy Nature, we have to be alone, to feel the depth and intensity of the moment, of the beauty around. I will do that. Trees are loaded with green, birds having chit chat on top. Flowers adding up color and beauty, to the scenic atmosphere. It is like cherry on top. No complaints. Life is great.

  January 12th 2024 It is around mid of January. Time for us to, start getting snow storms. This will be off an on, for the next couple of weeks. It is 10.15, mixed sunny cloudy morning, windy too. Gusts are 38 to 48 km.  Friday used to be my work day, not today. Kids day camp is going on in the library, at my work place. I am off for the whole week. I have to find my own things to do, to get busy. From Monday, things will be back on track. I will be having my regular work hours. It is 11.45, I am getting ready to walk to Tim Hortons. I take it as my second home. I know that it is cold and windy. I am all set with gloves, stole and three layers underneath my winter coat. I will be fine. Whites Road and walkway is, all clear of snow. I see some white patches of snow, by the side of road, under trees and bushes. This is the beauty of Toronto, snow cleared right away.   July 7th 2023 It is hot sunny morning, 9.15 and already 24 C, feel like 26. I woke up early, done with my breakfast. Talked to one of my daughters, my middle one, called me from Grimsby.  She was going home, done with her work. It was a brief talk. She was busy, picking up her son, on the way from school. My other daughters are still at work. They will call me later on. We talk everyday, not much, just to connect.  I am busy with my computer. No message from my childhood friend. She never skips, must be busy. She was at her son's place in Sydney, was planning to go back to Perth, to be with her daughter. She must be stuck, other matters to be resolved. Anyway we have to find our own, "Things to do", to get busy, to make our day. Don't have to wait for people's calls and messages. I am busy playing Scrabble and Card games on my computer. Computer is sort of Blessing for me. I don't know how my Mom used to pass her time without phone and computer. How come she

  June 13th 2023 Beautiful morning. Great weather. It was raining all day, yesterday. Stopped at late night. I was working, Mondays are my work days. Have to go to play Darts. It starts at 9.30 in mornings. We were thirteen all together. Picked our numbers to make teams. Two boards with four teams. Three players in each. One team was odd, I mean with four. Anyway we enjoyed. Thirteen seniors on a rainy day, out to play, to enjoy time together. Amazing at that age. Gives inner peace. Boosts will power with affirmation that we still can do it. Rain or no rain, nothing can stop, to make our day. I think, will is everything behind your motto. When there is a will, there is always a way to go ahead, to move on, to do what you want. Today is Tuesday, weather is great 18 C, a bit on a cooler side. I am off, not working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Last week I booked my flight to England. My daughters were pushing me for that.
