Something To Make Our Day

 It was raining all night, still drizzling. Things looking great after shower. It is 8.15 in the morning. I am done with my breakfast, now sitting in my room. My computer is switched on, inviting me to be with my loved ones. To be with my family and friends. Blinds of my windows are drawn up, inviting me to connect with the world outside. I am going through my Facebook messages also enjoying the scenic view through the glass of my side window.

Grass looks greener on my front garden. Skeleton trees no more shaky, look confident. They know, days of snow and sub zero temperatures, are now done. Time to enjoy, to have party, to have visitors. They know it is time to have social distancing, they will manage.

Red wooden bench shining at the side of my garden. Magnolia tree looks, all set to have flowers soon. Last night, my grand kids, youngest one, the Slurpee Boy and middle one, the Master Golden, managed to take the basket ball net out from under the trees. Net was lying down over there since September due to City Directive. We have to remove the net in winter time. 

Basket ball net now standing gracefully to welcome everyone around. This is the time for revival of life. Time to get out, to be at outdoors. I see, my friend, the Black Squirrel having His snacks under the Magnolia tree. Couple of birds enjoying their morning walk on my garden. Such a view to behold, to cherish. God is Great. There is always something for we Humans to enjoy, to make our day. Thank You God.

I had my vaccine injection today. My second doze will be couple of months after.

    I have posted the blog in Smile Corner. I think you still have not got my comments so I am sharing some of the details again. There is a lot of confusion in our town and also neighbouring townships about vaccination. The health officials, councillors and the mayor are all asking people to be vaccinated but so far most people are refusing because they say that you have not said once that vaccination is important. They are all doing social distancing though because you have encouraged everyone to do so. We also cancelled the Smile Parade and for the first time, cancelled onsite St Patrick’s day celebrations because you ordered us to be careful. Even the Smile Corner remained closed on St Patrick’s day.

      There are some new developments that I wanted to share with you. Some customers pointed out that you have now directed us to vaccinate. I immediately informed the Councillor and she informed the mayor as well as councillors of the neighbouring region. They are all happy. The customers have agreed to get vaccinated but they want to do it at Smile Corner. The health department was reluctant as this is a small place but the customers said that they will line up outdoors for hours if needed. The Mayor then asked the health department to listen to the people. So starting Monday, Smile Corner will be transformed into a vaccination site. To encourage vaccination, after vaccination, each customer will receive their own copy of the blog along with the confirmation receipt for the vaccination. All public and health officials , including the Councillor is asking me to thank YOU

    Dear Madam Smile, you so good. You kind to. Happy worker come and say how you. I say I ok She say I keep tell you get vaccine. I say I will not get vaccine. Happy Worker say but why you say that. I say because job worker 2 explain that vaccine is not good. It trick by governments and companies to sell vaccine. She say but that no true. I say job worker 2 tell me that if it good that why Madam no say get vaccine. Happy Worker say wicked worker is trying to trick you, Madam write about general things. I say but Madam very knowledge.     Dear Advisor,

    The retirees were amazed to see the new look of the blog. Some patrons of the restaurant who were here during the reading saw the new look and were wondering which ad agency you chose to give this new look.

    The retirees are having a challenging time with our kids Some of the in-law kids saw retirees touching pieces of bread before eating and then putting it back. They got upset because of that. But the retirees need to do that because we cant eat hard food. Also the retirees have a favourite knife and spoon, so sometimes we have to go through the washed cutlery to fish for the favourite knife and spoon. Of course, we touch some of the other items but we keep clean, so we dont know why the kids make such a fuss about these things.

    The retirees have been asked to vaccinate but we are refusing to do so since you have not instructed us for that.Your Indian compatriots however have started the vaccinations. They were telling the hijab lady and her temple friends that most of the world’s vaccines are coming from India. They also will be celebrating Holi in the next day or so. They also pointed out that you changed the blog to coincide with the big religious and festive event. On behalf of all the retirees we wish you a very Happy Holi

    Dear Author,

    We read your blog at the Smile Garden today. After the reading, the Dean and Prof George were heard talking about the new look of the blog. They also asked a senior professor of the computer science department to give an assignment to the senior year students of the department to create these types of design in the blogs but the professor said that this is not something that students can do as this requires consulting skills.

    The students are having a very challenging time with our parents. They keep asking us about jobs or marks. This causes a lot of stress. We are doing the best we can and we dont need them to ask us every month about that

    Father say father yell Kris because he no go get Hannah from parent house. Father say father no no why you say Hannah go parent house because now Father lot problem with lot thing. Father say father old almost 67

    Smile has been an educator to us. She leads by example. Prior to reading these blogs we had multiple misconceptions about ourselves. We are sharing a few here for illustrative purposes. We thought that we are quite active, independent, savvy with eloquent writing abilities. Yet after reading these blogs, we came to realize that our abilities and activities are reminisce in the light of Smile's illustrious examples. Smile has proved that she can craft world class masterpieces in a matter of minutes; Is completely weather proof; Refuse to take any assistance from her scion. All in all, we continue to learn from Smile. Where possible, we also borrow and steal from her positivity to provide guidance in shaping the national discourse around Covid-19 as well as the vaccination narrative.

    I have been writing comments regularly for the past few months however looks like you may not have been getting my comments due to the networking issues. Though Covid has caused numerous health and economic issues, it has reduced my travel as I can virtually talk to my teams via Zoom and other conferencing tools. As I mentioned last week, we have started a new tradition in our executive meetings, we start with Smile’s blog as an icebreaker. It creates so much positive energy and also makes everyone at ease

  January 12th 2024 It is around mid of January. Time for us to, start getting snow storms. This will be off an on, for the next couple of weeks. It is 10.15, mixed sunny cloudy morning, windy too. Gusts are 38 to 48 km.  Friday used to be my work day, not today. Kids day camp is going on in the library, at my work place. I am off for the whole week. I have to find my own things to do, to get busy. From Monday, things will be back on track. I will be having my regular work hours. It is 11.45, I am getting ready to walk to Tim Hortons. I take it as my second home. I know that it is cold and windy. I am all set with gloves, stole and three layers underneath my winter coat. I will be fine.   July 7th 2023 It is hot sunny morning, 9.15 and already 24 C, feel like 26. I woke up early, done with my breakfast. Talked to one of my daughters, my middle one, called me from Grimsby.  She was going home, done with her work. It was a brief talk. She was busy, picking up her son, on the way from school. My other daughters are still at work. They will call me later on. We talk everyday, not much, just to connect.  I am busy with my computer. No message from my childhood friend. She never skips, must be busy. She was at her son's place in Sydney, was planning to go back to Perth, to be with her daughter. She must be stuck, other matters to be resolved. Anyway we have to find our own, "Things to do", to get busy, to make our day. Don't have to wait for people's calls and messages. I am busy playing Scrabble and Card games on my computer.   June 13th 2023 Beautiful morning. Great weather. It was raining all day, yesterday. Stopped at late night. I was working, Mondays are my work days. Have to go to play Darts. It starts at 9.30 in mornings. We were thirteen all together. Picked our numbers to make teams. Two boards with four teams. Three players in each. One team was odd, I mean with four. Anyway we enjoyed. Thirteen seniors on a rainy day, out to play, to enjoy time together. Amazing at that age. Gives inner peace. Boosts will power with affirmation that we still can do it. Rain or no rain, nothing can stop, to make our day. I think, will is everything behind your motto. When there is a will, there is always a way to go ahead, to move on, to do what you want. Today is Tuesday, weather is great 18 C, a bit on a cooler side. I am off, not working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Last week I booked my flight to England. My daughters were pushing me for that.
