New Year Resolutions
New Year is still a newborn, just one month old. I think most of the
New year resolutions must already be under the pillow. People must be
tired of the ambitious rules and regulations they chalked out for
themselves to follow.
This is the story every year. We get
carried away by December and start making a long list, mostly related to
our health and body. We like to trim out our body to get in shape.
Brisk exercises, strict healthy diets. Everything is there intact on
paper, phone and computer.
We make an honest commitment with our
own selves to follow all that, no matter what. It looks like a fool
proof plan, to get in shape with a beautiful figure. Looks like it will
materialize in just a couple of weeks.
Few weeks pass and we get
tired of all that. Start cheating ourselves. We try to make ourselves
understand that if we skip sometimes it won't be a big deal. It won't
make much difference. We just have to go a couple of extra miles, a
couple of extra weeks. We can handle that. Week by week we start
losing our ambition and by the end of month, our energy starts fading
away. We are no longer in a mood to cope with the regulations we chalked
out religiously with commitment before starting the new year.
Our
focus is not there. We try to distract ourselves to not to think about
that anymore. We start thinking that we are fine. Our body and figure is
not in bad shape. Not to feel pressure. Just relax and enjoy your life.
No reason to skip good and tasty food. It is not a good idea. Life is
to enjoy.
We have to think twice before making our list of
resolutions for the new year. Too much of anything is not good. Try to
handle things in moderation. It will work to travel through all paths of
life. Things will be worked out. No pressure. Nothing to worry about.
Enjoy. Keep smiling.
