I was at Christmas Lunch

Yesterday was very busy day for me. There was Christmas Lunch arranged by our Senior Club for we members. It was very festive atmosphere. Nice decorations. Good food. There was winter storm advisory. Weather was challenging. Rain and Hails, still, we had house full at our Club event. 

They ordered separate lunch boxes from Swiss Chalet for everyone. So much there in each box. Not easy to finish. We had our choices for what to eat, to order before hand. I preferred vegie pie, on top was Baked potato, delicious dinner roll and variety of sauces. Cheese and all sort of Crackers. Desert was also there, variety of cakes and Pies.

I just had a bit of Veggie pie, cheese and and couple of crackers. How much can I have, at my age, not much. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Who cares about food at our age. I left early, so much to enjoy after. So many activities, Music, Lucky Draw, were all scheduled. I didn't wait for all that, messaged my son, to let him know that I am done. Why to wait for Desert and Activities. 

I stayed there from 12 to 1 pm. I enjoyed, met my friends. So many of our Senior members stay home. They come, sometimes for Club Meetings and sometimes for such parties. I had a chance to see my old friends. That was more than enough for me, to make my day. My son works from home. He must be busy with his meetings and work. I have to keep that in mind. We don't have to put extra pressure on our kids. They already try to do whatever they can. We have to appreciate all that.

At 1pm, weather was vey tricky, Freezing rain and Hails, added up the pressure, so much to handle for we Canadians. I walked to my car, carefully, slow and bend down, to keep my glasses safe. I made it. I feel lucky, always there, something to do, to get busy. I don't have Slots to fill in. No empty spots to deal with, to worry about. Lucky me.

It is Friday, 1.45, I am at Costco. I am done with my Darts, it was from 10 to 12. My son has appointment for one of his cars at Costco. He picked me up from my work, after Darts. I packed some snacks in the morning, for my day. One small banana, one cheese triangle and three crackers, enough for my lunch. I am walking around, while he is busy with groceries and his car things. I enjoy to be at Flower section. It is so beautiful, so refreshing, enough to make my day.

It is 2.15, I am in food court, sitting on one of the small red benches, beside white small table, writing my Blog and waiting for my son, to be done, to go home. Life is Good.

  January 12th 2024 It is around mid of January. Time for us to, start getting snow storms. This will be off an on, for the next couple of weeks. It is 10.15, mixed sunny cloudy morning, windy too. Gusts are 38 to 48 km.  Friday used to be my work day, not today. Kids day camp is going on in the library, at my work place. I am off for the whole week. I have to find my own things to do, to get busy. From Monday, things will be back on track. I will be having my regular work hours. It is 11.45, I am getting ready to walk to Tim Hortons. I take it as my second home. I know that it is cold and windy. I am all set with gloves, stole and three layers underneath my winter coat. I will be fine. Whites Road and walkway is, all clear of snow. I see some white patches of snow, by the side of road, under trees and bushes. This is the beauty of Toronto, snow cleared right away. I have to put Reverse Gear

  July 7th 2023 It is hot sunny morning, 9.15 and already 24 C, feel like 26. I woke up early, done with my breakfast. Talked to one of my daughters, my middle one, called me from Grimsby.  She was going home, done with her work. It was a brief talk. She was busy, picking up her son, on the way from school. My other daughters are still at work. They will call me later on. We talk everyday, not much, just to connect.  I am busy with my computer. No message from my childhood friend. She never skips, must be busy. She was at her son's place in Sydney, was planning to go back to Perth, to be with her daughter. She must be stuck, other matters to be resolved. Anyway we have to find our own, "Things to do", to get busy, to make our day. Don't have to wait for people's calls and messages. I am busy playing Scrabble and Card games on my computer. Computer is sort of Blessing for me. I don't know how my Mom used to pass her time without phone and computer. How come she

  June 13th 2023 Beautiful morning. Great weather. It was raining all day, yesterday. Stopped at late night. I was working, Mondays are my work days. Have to go to play Darts. It starts at 9.30 in mornings. We were thirteen all together. Picked our numbers to make teams. Two boards with four teams. Three players in each. One team was odd, I mean with four. Anyway we enjoyed. Thirteen seniors on a rainy day, out to play, to enjoy time together. Amazing at that age. Gives inner peace. Boosts will power with affirmation that we still can do it. Rain or no rain, nothing can stop, to make our day. I think, will is everything behind your motto. When there is a will, there is always a way to go ahead, to move on, to do what you want. Today is Tuesday, weather is great 18 C, a bit on a cooler side. I am off, not working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Last week I booked my flight to England. My daughters were pushing me for that.
