Spring is Just around the Corner

It is one of the beautiful bright sunny mornings of early February. Snow is still around but not so cold. It is just 3 C below zero, feels like 8 below. This is like summer in Toronto for we Canadians. My daughter in Edmonton is coping with 30 C below zero. They have special boots and jackets to handle the Icy conditions and freezing cold. We Humans are amazing creatures. We can survive. Know how to enjoy whatever is there. Make adjustments.

Couple of weeks back, there was a real snow storm in Toronto, otherwise we don't see snow piling up for such a long time. Snow banks are still along the pathways and by the road side. It will take time to clear all the mess. I salute frontline workers for pitching in so much, to make our lives easier. Our roads and walkways are all clear. Our garbage picked up all the times, on designated days.  That is great. We have to realize, admire and have to appreciate their efforts.

This Covid period of time is now for more than two years. Not easy for anyone but it is tough for our frontline workers. They managed things around, did whatever possible, so that we can carry on our lives in a normal way. I salute them.

It is 10.15, I am done with my breakfast and with my chores downstairs, making peanut butter sandwiches and chocolate milk for my youngest grandson, my Slurpee Boy. He has to go for in person schooling. Made beef burger lunch too. He will be back in the afternoon. It is nice that things are getting back to the normal routine. Good for kids to interact, to get out, to enjoy their time.

I am sitting in my room, my computer is switched on to connect me with my loved ones. I love my computer. Blinds of my windows, are drawn up to connect me with the world outside. Life is good. 

Red wooden bench on the left corner of my front garden, is looking great, half embedded under snow and with thick snow slab on top. Black Squirrel is playing around. It looks windy, I see skeleton trees are shaking their heads. Couple of more weeks to go, things will change.

 March is getting closer. Spring is just around the corner. There is always light at the end of tunnel. Get busy to distract yourself from thinking negative. Stay positive and everything starts looking positive.

  January 12th 2024 It is around mid of January. Time for us to, start getting snow storms. This will be off an on, for the next couple of weeks. It is 10.15, mixed sunny cloudy morning, windy too. Gusts are 38 to 48 km.  Friday used to be my work day, not today. Kids day camp is going on in the library, at my work place. I am off for the whole week. I have to find my own things to do, to get busy. From Monday, things will be back on track. I will be having my regular work hours. It is 11.45, I am getting ready to walk to Tim Hortons. I take it as my second home. I know that it is cold and windy. I am all set with gloves, stole and three layers underneath my winter coat. I will be fine. Whites Road and walkway is, all clear of snow. I see some white patches of snow, by the side of road, under trees and bushes. This is the beauty of Toronto, snow cleared right away. It looks like a usual wintry day. No snow. Everything working, normal routine. Nothing stops, so is my walk. I am at Tim H

I have to put Reverse Gear

  July 7th 2023 It is hot sunny morning, 9.15 and already 24 C, feel like 26. I woke up early, done with my breakfast. Talked to one of my daughters, my middle one, called me from Grimsby.  She was going home, done with her work. It was a brief talk. She was busy, picking up her son, on the way from school. My other daughters are still at work. They will call me later on. We talk everyday, not much, just to connect.  I am busy with my computer. No message from my childhood friend. She never skips, must be busy. She was at her son's place in Sydney, was planning to go back to Perth, to be with her daughter. She must be stuck, other matters to be resolved. Anyway we have to find our own, "Things to do", to get busy, to make our day. Don't have to wait for people's calls and messages. I am busy playing Scrabble and Card games on my computer. Computer is sort of Blessing for me. I don't know how my Mom used to pass her time without phone and computer. How come she

  June 13th 2023 Beautiful morning. Great weather. It was raining all day, yesterday. Stopped at late night. I was working, Mondays are my work days. Have to go to play Darts. It starts at 9.30 in mornings. We were thirteen all together. Picked our numbers to make teams. Two boards with four teams. Three players in each. One team was odd, I mean with four. Anyway we enjoyed. Thirteen seniors on a rainy day, out to play, to enjoy time together. Amazing at that age. Gives inner peace. Boosts will power with affirmation that we still can do it. Rain or no rain, nothing can stop, to make our day. I think, will is everything behind your motto. When there is a will, there is always a way to go ahead, to move on, to do what you want. Today is Tuesday, weather is great 18 C, a bit on a cooler side. I am off, not working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Last week I booked my flight to England. My daughters were pushing me for that.
