I am enjoying snow

Some days we have no options. We just have to switch our plans. The same happened today with me.

Snow is all around. So much there because of yesterday's snow storm.

City workers cleared the roads and walkways, still icy patches are in between. Not safe to walk for people of my age. Safety is a priority for everyone. For us, we have to be extra careful.

Anyway, things happen. Nothing is the end of the world. We have to adjust with the circumstances. Have to accept whatever Is there.

I am enjoying the scenic view for now. Trees look great loaded with cottony flowers. It is nineteen below zero right now. 10.30 in the morning. I am making tea for myself at home. The view from my patio doors is amazing.

The sun is shining in full bloom making our day brighter. Red knitted steel garden chairs on my deck are loaded with thick white  cushions. The glass top of the steel garden table is loaded with a thick slab of ice.

Everyone in the house left, for in person work. Looks like I am sitting on an empty nest. I have to chalk out plans to make my day.

I just checked my table calendar. I have to wash my hair. I don't wash my hair every day. Not many hair left so taking measures to save as much as possible.

I have to make some calls. I have to call my university friend. We did Masters together more than half a century ago. She lives in Markham, a twenty minute drive away. She doesn't drive me either.

We call to keep our conversations alive. We chit cha, talk about our favorite shows. Sometimes we talk about the time we spent together  to share memories.

We feel lucky to have someone to talk about the things we can relate to. I am in my room with my computer on. The curtains of my windows are up.

I am enjoying the view outside. The red wooden bench looks beautiful loaded with snow. The atmosphere looks so calm, so peaceful. Sometimes staying home is also a good idea.
