I am taking breaks to smell roses

It is a cold morning, snow all around. There was a snow storm couple of days ago, on 16th. It started at 1.30, I was at the library. Our club arranged valentine's lunch for we seniors. My friend surprised me with a pack of tasty, strawberry filled chocolates. So nice of her. 

She is a real friend of mine, gives me ride on Mondays. She knows, I have car problem on some days. My daughter in law goes to work, in person, on couple of days, I get stuck at that time. 

Snow storm started on 16th, it continued till yesterday. Nothing stops for we Canadians. We learned how to tackle all that. Yesterday was my working day. I was there on time. Couple of people from our group were also there. We were eleven, made four teams, played Darts game on two carpets, enjoyed our time.

Today, it is a beautiful day, sunny bright and cold, feels like 17 C below zero. It is beauty of Canada that sun keeps on shining up and above, most of the time, to make our days brighter. 

It is 9.45, I am at lake. My son has gone for his long walk. I am enjoying my own time, my own moments. I like to take breaks, to smell roses, on the way. To focus on the spots, to behold. We are not running a marathon. Why to hurry, just relax. Take your time to enjoy your moments.

I think, at our age, we have a different criteria of life. My son is young, at his age, outlook on life, is different. Our thoughts and ideas keep on changing. We act differently at every stage of our life, also every person is unique, has his own personality, behaves differently. Nothing wrong with that. 

I am enjoying at lake side. Water is looking great, at one side, displaying all shades of blue, while at the other side, it is sparkling like silver. Amazing. Not many people here. Just couple of them are walking with their dogs. I think, it is weekend, people take time to start their day. I am done here, now going home. Have a great day my friends. Talk to you later.

  January 12th 2024 It is around mid of January. Time for us to, start getting snow storms. This will be off an on, for the next couple of weeks. It is 10.15, mixed sunny cloudy morning, windy too. Gusts are 38 to 48 km.  Friday used to be my work day, not today. Kids day camp is going on in the library, at my work place. I am off for the whole week. I have to find my own things to do, to get busy. From Monday, things will be back on track. I will be having my regular work hours. It is 11.45, I am getting ready to walk to Tim Hortons. I take it as my second home. I know that it is cold and windy. I am all set with gloves, stole and three layers underneath my winter coat. I will be fine. Whites Road and walkway is, all clear of snow. I see some white patches of snow, by the side of road, under trees and bushes. This is the beauty of Toronto, snow cleared right away.   July 7th 2023 It is hot sunny morning, 9.15 and already 24 C, feel like 26. I woke up early, done with my breakfast. Talked to one of my daughters, my middle one, called me from Grimsby.  She was going home, done with her work. It was a brief talk. She was busy, picking up her son, on the way from school. My other daughters are still at work. They will call me later on. We talk everyday, not much, just to connect.  I am busy with my computer. No message from my childhood friend. She never skips, must be busy. She was at her son's place in Sydney, was planning to go back to Perth, to be with her daughter. She must be stuck, other matters to be resolved. Anyway we have to find our own, "Things to do", to get busy, to make our day. Don't have to wait for people's calls and messages. I am busy playing Scrabble and Card games on my computer.   June 13th 2023 Beautiful morning. Great weather. It was raining all day, yesterday. Stopped at late night. I was working, Mondays are my work days. Have to go to play Darts. It starts at 9.30 in mornings. We were thirteen all together. Picked our numbers to make teams. Two boards with four teams. Three players in each. One team was odd, I mean with four. Anyway we enjoyed. Thirteen seniors on a rainy day, out to play, to enjoy time together. Amazing at that age. Gives inner peace. Boosts will power with affirmation that we still can do it. Rain or no rain, nothing can stop, to make our day. I think, will is everything behind your motto. When there is a will, there is always a way to go ahead, to move on, to do what you want. Today is Tuesday, weather is great 18 C, a bit on a cooler side. I am off, not working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Last week I booked my flight to England. My daughters were pushing me for that.
