Beautiful morning, nice weather. It was long weekend. Monday was a close holiday. My niece, my sister's daughter came to stay with me, on Sunday. She came with my younger brother and his wife. We had BBQ, enjoyed together. My late brother-in law's daughter came too with her husband and son. They were also there, to enjoy.

It is good to be with your loved ones, to enjoy the rare moments. Not every day, we get such opportunities. Nice to be connected. Everyone is different. We get a chance to know them, while spending some time. In gatherings, everyone talks in his/her own style. Their opinions and ideas may be conflicting with your ideas.

We learn to be patient, to listen to everyone. It is a unique time to enjoy together and a learning opportunity, to improve our listening talent. Listening is a great skill. Years ago, I was going through a small book on the topic of "Listening". 

I was surprised, to know that our job, specially the first one, depends, 60 % on our listening ability. I think, the author was right. Listening exhibits our level of patience and tolerance. Our capability to be able to connect with people. To get along and work in group. That is a rare talent.

Everyone left after enjoying the BBQ, at around 9 pm. My niece stayed, to spend one more day at our place. She opted to sleep in my room. There was enough space for another mattress, beside my bed. She was happy to be with me, to spend some time with her aunt.

On Monday, she walked with me to Tim Hortons, to enjoy coffee together. We had pictures, enjoyed our time. She sent pictures to her Mom. My sister must be happy, to see her daughter with me. I am happy too.

It is great, to impart your family bindings, to transfer to the next generation. Needs lots of patience and love, to gain their trust and confidence.

  January 12th 2024 It is around mid of January. Time for us to, start getting snow storms. This will be off an on, for the next couple of weeks. It is 10.15, mixed sunny cloudy morning, windy too. Gusts are 38 to 48 km.  Friday used to be my work day, not today. Kids day camp is going on in the library, at my work place. I am off for the whole week. I have to find my own things to do, to get busy. From Monday, things will be back on track. I will be having my regular work hours. It is 11.45, I am getting ready to walk to Tim Hortons. I take it as my second home. I know that it is cold and windy. I am all set with gloves, stole and three layers underneath my winter coat. I will be fine. Whites Road and walkway is, all clear of snow. I see some white patches of snow, by the side of road, under trees and bushes. This is the beauty of Toronto, snow cleared right away.   July 7th 2023 It is hot sunny morning, 9.15 and already 24 C, feel like 26. I woke up early, done with my breakfast. Talked to one of my daughters, my middle one, called me from Grimsby.  She was going home, done with her work. It was a brief talk. She was busy, picking up her son, on the way from school. My other daughters are still at work. They will call me later on. We talk everyday, not much, just to connect.  I am busy with my computer. No message from my childhood friend. She never skips, must be busy. She was at her son's place in Sydney, was planning to go back to Perth, to be with her daughter. She must be stuck, other matters to be resolved. Anyway we have to find our own, "Things to do", to get busy, to make our day. Don't have to wait for people's calls and messages. I am busy playing Scrabble and Card games on my computer. Computer is sort of Blessing for me. I don't know how my Mom used to pass her time without phone and computer. How come she

  June 13th 2023 Beautiful morning. Great weather. It was raining all day, yesterday. Stopped at late night. I was working, Mondays are my work days. Have to go to play Darts. It starts at 9.30 in mornings. We were thirteen all together. Picked our numbers to make teams. Two boards with four teams. Three players in each. One team was odd, I mean with four. Anyway we enjoyed. Thirteen seniors on a rainy day, out to play, to enjoy time together. Amazing at that age. Gives inner peace. Boosts will power with affirmation that we still can do it. Rain or no rain, nothing can stop, to make our day. I think, will is everything behind your motto. When there is a will, there is always a way to go ahead, to move on, to do what you want. Today is Tuesday, weather is great 18 C, a bit on a cooler side. I am off, not working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Last week I booked my flight to England. My daughters were pushing me for that.
