Who Needs Car, Not me
It is 8.45, beautiful morning. Bright sunny, not too hot, not too cold. Perfect for my walk. For now, I am busy with my five minutes light stretching exercises. That will be enough to wake up my body, to cooperate with my routine matters, to enjoy my day. I wont say, "to pass my day". It looks to me a bit lethargic and reflects, sort of negativity.
We have to pick words very carefully. It can take us anywhere. Keep in mind that we have to boost our attitude, to go to the right direction. This is important to keep us away from thinking negative. Everything matters, to build up, positive attitude in our personality.
Life is the same for everyone, with ups and downs, sort of a mixed plate. It is like a "Combo", with main course and side dishes. We have to come across with all the events, to deal in our life. Life is not a bed of Roses. It is like an unpaved trail with bushes around. We have to find our way, to pick flowers of happiness.
Flowers of happiness, what I believe, are, "To find ways to spread happiness and to put smile on the faces around". What goes around comes back. We will be happy too, after.
Because of Covid situation, everyone is working from home, but today my daughter in law has to go to work, so car is not available today. No lake trip for me today. I have to chalk out something else, to enjoy my time and to top up my steps.
I checked my table calendar. I am done with my hair color and hair wash a day before. Laundry and change of bed sheets, I did yesterday. I am done with talks to my daughters. They usually call me in the morning. It use to be their afternoon in England. I talk to my daughter, in Edmonton, at night. She is two hours behind of my time in Toronto.
I checked the weather. It will be hot 30 C, after. It is 10.30, not so hot, 22 C. I have to get ready to walk to the nearby Plaza. I am at "Dollarama", getting chocolates for my grand kids. My middle one is having his birthday today. I got special chocolates for him, for my "Master Golden". He will be happy.
I will be happy too, to put smile on the faces on my grand kids. I am going to "Metro", to get freshly baked Muffins for my son, to make him happy. I wont forget myself, will get one Carrot or Blueberry muffin for myself too. We always have to keep in mind, not to forget to give treats to our body, to make it happy too. This will work to streamline our day to day matters, to go smooth.
It is 11.30, took me one hour, to be back, with two shopping bags loaded with chocolates and three muffins. I got one Chocolate chip muffin too. Anyone of them might have that. Kids usually like that. We have to go one step further to take our chances. Sometimes, it might work. I am happy, made my day. Who needs car, not me.
I have posted the blog in Smile Corner. This being Saturday, lots of customers are lined up outside my shop to read the blog. I am still maintaining social distancing as per your orders. The priest is here too and telling customers that we should be careful about outsiders, specially Oxford educated aristocrats who keep daily contact with London. When one customer pointed out that you are an author and only talks to your daughters but the Priest said that what is there to talk about every day. He also pointed out that you are in constant touch with others all over the world eg your friend in Australia. He asked the customer if it is normal that anyone has people to talk to all over the world. The customer agreed and said that yes we mostly sit home and watch tele. There is no one to talk to because even the kids dont want to talk to us. The priest then asked the customer to come to the sermon. The priest is trying very hard to get people to stop coming here and instead go to his sermons but the customers are addicted to your blog.

DeleteMy mother in law has a sharp tongue too. I think this is because none of what you write goes in her thick head. I am planning to give her less food to teach her a lesson. I wish all mother in laws could be like you .You do everything yourself and also get special chocolates for your grandson’s birthday

ReplyDeleteThe retirees appreciate your blog today. The retirees are very upset with the Indian participants. The Indians are also embarrassed with the situation that unfolded. We are concerned that this is causing you aggravation. Though you have taken the high road and have not suspended, or even cancelled your gracious advisory duties towards us, the retirees want to take more drastic actions. We have set up a committee under the retired corporate executive to identify all the culprits and then recommend actions against them. The retired judge was asked to be part of the committee. The hijab lady was the one who pushed the idea. There were many retirees who were of the view that your message is often to forget about what happened and move on but she insisted that this wont be right and those involved should be punished.
The retirees expressed their concern that your daily routines are very hard. The retirees expressed hope that your son will be a little more considerate towards you. Other retirees scoffed at the idea and said that it is easier to have Trump become a kinder person than your son be considerate towards you.
The retirees celebrated the birthday of Master Golden. We wanted to cut the cake but the new restaurant manager did not allow this as the cake was from outside the restaurant. The old restaurant manager used to allow that all the time and also used to offer special Smile discounts to all on these occasions. Unfortunately he was fired from the job after the dog incidents. The old restaurant manager is still a big fan of yours and come to the readings. We wish if you can do anything to help with his job because the new one is very much by the book and at times have not even allowed us to have readings inside the restaurant.

ReplyDeleteWe read your blog at the Smile Garden today. We did that so we can celebrate Master Golden’s birthday. Mrs. Lucy baked cup cakes and also cooked egg and potato curry from one of your old recipes. There were a lot of cup cakes but she cooked one big pot of curry and we each had a small amount as a respect to you. One of the Professor said that Smile is a great author and an even greater grandmother. Prof George said yes like Messi is a good footballer. The Dean joked and said, if you are talking about Smile, then you should use Pele or Muhammed Ali in your examples as they are the greatest of all time. The Smile Army then started raising slogans and we had to leave as they were getting very loud
The students are starting to get graduation gifts from their parents. Most have got cars. The lucky guy probably has got a Mercedes. Though it is understandable that we will get graduation gifts, but we dont understand why the parents keep lecturing us about jobs. In one case, a father brought up the topic twice in one month. And the conversation was very long as it lasted almost a minute. We are not comfortable about this subject. We are taking a little break and will start applying after summer or perhaps next year. We dont want to rush it.
