Enjoyed Pot Luck at Our Club

 Beautiful Day. Nice morning, sunny and bright. I am done with my breakfast, have to go to my work, at nine after. It is 8.15, lots of time to get ready. For now, I am enjoying my morning tea at my deck, sitting on one of the knitted chairs, my son recently got from the Home Depot. I am enjoying the scenery and the cool breeze around. Flowers, in the flower bed at the back, giving me smile to make my day. 

It is 8.30, time to go to my room, to be with my computer, to browse my Facebook messages, after that, I will be getting ready to go to work, to play Darts. I will be back at 12.30. 

Yesterday my club organized Pot luck for we seniors. Not everyone participated. I was there. I try to go, whenever I can, to make my day. Some people cooked to bring dishes of their choice from home. Some pitched money. It was five dollars per person. Idea to plan events, has to be enjoyment, not to feel a burden, contributing heavy amount. Many people preferred to contribute money to get food from outside. I did that too.

We had lunch and enjoyed playing "Price is Right" and "Trivia" sort of games after. It started raining with hails, in between our program. We, sitting inside library building, enjoyed that, through the big glass panels of the room. Rain stopped after twenty minutes or so. Our lunch was at 12.30, we left at four. 

There were small gift prizes, to give color to the event. Many people got something. I got Small pink garden basket, filled with chocolates, one  colorful bird with yellow bell Chime and one small beautifully painted stone, to put in my garden. I was happy, gave chocolates to my grand kids and the garden stuff to my son and my daughter in law, to put wherever they want to.

  January 12th 2024 It is around mid of January. Time for us to, start getting snow storms. This will be off an on, for the next couple of weeks. It is 10.15, mixed sunny cloudy morning, windy too. Gusts are 38 to 48 km.  Friday used to be my work day, not today. Kids day camp is going on in the library, at my work place. I am off for the whole week. I have to find my own things to do, to get busy. From Monday, things will be back on track. I will be having my regular work hours. It is 11.45, I am getting ready to walk to Tim Hortons. I take it as my second home. I know that it is cold and windy. I am all set with gloves, stole and three layers underneath my winter coat. I will be fine. Whites Road and walkway is, all clear of snow. I see some white patches of snow, by the side of road, under trees and bushes. This is the beauty of Toronto, snow cleared right away. I have to put Reverse Gear

  July 7th 2023 It is hot sunny morning, 9.15 and already 24 C, feel like 26. I woke up early, done with my breakfast. Talked to one of my daughters, my middle one, called me from Grimsby.  She was going home, done with her work. It was a brief talk. She was busy, picking up her son, on the way from school. My other daughters are still at work. They will call me later on. We talk everyday, not much, just to connect.  I am busy with my computer. No message from my childhood friend. She never skips, must be busy. She was at her son's place in Sydney, was planning to go back to Perth, to be with her daughter. She must be stuck, other matters to be resolved. Anyway we have to find our own, "Things to do", to get busy, to make our day. Don't have to wait for people's calls and messages. I am busy playing Scrabble and Card games on my computer. Computer is sort of Blessing for me. I don't know how my Mom used to pass her time without phone and computer. How come she

  June 13th 2023 Beautiful morning. Great weather. It was raining all day, yesterday. Stopped at late night. I was working, Mondays are my work days. Have to go to play Darts. It starts at 9.30 in mornings. We were thirteen all together. Picked our numbers to make teams. Two boards with four teams. Three players in each. One team was odd, I mean with four. Anyway we enjoyed. Thirteen seniors on a rainy day, out to play, to enjoy time together. Amazing at that age. Gives inner peace. Boosts will power with affirmation that we still can do it. Rain or no rain, nothing can stop, to make our day. I think, will is everything behind your motto. When there is a will, there is always a way to go ahead, to move on, to do what you want. Today is Tuesday, weather is great 18 C, a bit on a cooler side. I am off, not working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Last week I booked my flight to England. My daughters were pushing me for that.
