White Stuff Everywhere
It is Wednesday very cold morning with 31 C below zero. It is 9.15, I am
sitting in the Billiard room in the library, writing my Blog also having the
view through the big glass window. Parking lot is very icy, just like my
driveway. This like called black ice, very tricky to walk.
I had my hip surgery years back so three nails are stuck on my left side.
We at our age, have to be extra careful while walking around in such a
situation. On Monday evening, it was worse. There was 26 cm of snow,
our city had one day in decade.
Tuesday morning, all cars looked embedded under heaps of snow. It was
windy too, gusts 54 km. Trees displaying mixed scenario. I mean some
of the skeleton trees with white silvery decorations, looked ready for Christmas Festivities, while others were stand still like in wait
and see situation.
Some very small bushes looking like ice sculptures. It was Tuesday, our
garbage collection day so lots of activity going around in our neighborhood.
Big garbage truck was there for pick ups.
During Boxing day sales, we picked up new sofa set, the delivery came on
Monday so we put our old set outside for garbage pick up. It was amazing
to watch, how they managed the two, three seated sofa sets with heap of
snow on top, to dump in their truck.
My neighbor across, goes early morning. He was busy for hours, shoveling
snow on his driveway. He succeeded in digging sort of tunnel in between
the two small hill tops of the white stuff.
Anyway, storm is done but we have to deal with the huge amount of snow
lying everywhere. I am working full time today, playing Darts and Carpet
Bowling too, will go back home after 3 pm.
Kris Dear, it is very rude and insensitive behavior. How can you think that
Hannah has to wake up early so that Father's bell not be able to wake you
up. You have to take position to protect Hannah and Niklas.
Dear Friends in Ireland, to solve things, we have to put ourselves in other
person's shoes. Have to be very patient and tolerant otherwise things never
be solved. It is wonderful to have a peaceful atmosphere but can not be
possible without give and take attitude.

ReplyDeleteI have posted the blog in Smile Corner. This being weekend, customers are staying longer. They usually read blog before going for the weekly shopping in the market. A no. of them are asking for copies of the recipe from past week. I already make lots of copies but I still end up short as some customers prefer to take the blog with them to their homes or workplace. The councilor was here and said that you are endorsing him and thanked you for that. The priest was also here and said that you not endorsing anyone. He also repeated to everyone that outsiders must not interfere in the local elections. Some customers are very concerned because if the other councillor candidate wins, she will shutdown the Smile Corner because priest is not happy that very few people are coming to his sermons.

I say it very cold in Canada and she need go library for dart. It like office for my Madam so she no take time out. He say so why you scare. I say because her only son no clean driveway properly and Madam can fall. He say yes he is somthing. I say so you no like him to. ReplyDeleteThe retirees did not go for our walk today as it is very cold. Our walk though very long for us, is nothing compared to the walks that you take. The retirees went straight to the reading of the blog
The retired winter survival specialist led the reading of the blog today. The retired winter survival consultant is a leading expert in the art and science of winter living. He used to be a very sought after consultant and is well versed in winter living/ He said that he is simply blown away that you are completely winter proof. He said that when the temp used to go below 15, then it becomes very dangerous and seniors are advised to stay home yet you choose to venture out and go to the library despite -31C. He also said that he hopes your son is doing a decent job of cleaning the driveway because the driveway can become icy and in really bad cases, there can be icy patches, almost like a mini skating rink. When we asked him how it is possible to clean the driveway in these temps, he said that it is not that complicated, shovelling snow and then sprinkling salt is all thats needed.
For the first time, the temple priest also came. We asked him about the fundraising money but he simply smiled and said that it is all being used for a good cause. The hijab lady was here too and started quoting their leaders. As the situation was getting too religious, many retirees left

ReplyDeleteWe read your blog at the Smile Garden today. It was very cold but there is not enough room in the SRC to fit all the people who come for the weekend reading. The SRC is somewhat small and can fit 100 people, though often times, there are more than that people there during the weekday blog readings. Mrs. Lucy brought carrot dessert for everyone. They all loved it. The hospital administrator noted that it is a big hit at the hospital. The cafe manager said that papering it is not that easy. Mrs Lucy said that you provided the recipe but you probably are supervising the cooking because it is not easy to make it. The smile army wanted seconds, as the idiots eat a lot. Mrs Lucy however knew that this will happen and had some extra for them. A professor was heard saying to the Prof George that he does not understand if you are really a human or a robot. The Dean happened to be nearby, and said that you are anything but a robot because you are extremely sensitive and kind hearted. The professor asked him how he knows about all this? The Dean smiled and said you have helped a lot of people, including himself. The professor wanted to ask for additional information but the Dean said that it is between him and Smile. After it he joined the Smile Army in playing darts

I was thinking of telling you that my daughter in law does not know what respecting the elders mean because she has not been taught respect by her parents and teachers. But I wont say that because of your request. I will however ask you to write about younger people respecting elders so others can benefit from that too. Though, to be honest, I dont think there will be any who will be as bad as her
