Gold at my Front Garden

It is Thursday cloudy morning with 7 C. It is raining since yesterday, will
continue the whole day so my walk is on hold. I have to make some other
plans to get busy to pass my time. I am off today. I don't work on Thursdays.

It is 10.30 my daughters from Grimsby and from Reading, England called
me. It is good to be connected. I am with my computer going through my
Facebook messages.

My childhood grade seven friend lives in Sydney, visiting her family back
home. She writes messages every day. We share our memories and also
our day to day matters. We feel great, when we are confident that someone
listening.

Listening is sharing, a mutual process of spiritual therapy. It gives inner
peace. When we talk and have confidence that the other person is listening,
we feel, we are not alone. Someone can understand the way we are looking
the world around.

Listening is a two way process. First we have to build up relationship with
the person. That person, who is talking must have total trust so to put his
thoughts without any editing. Has to convey, the way he is thinking.
Trust is the key factor after that it doesn't matter, you are physically
there or miles away.

My friend has trust that I am listening. I am there for her. It gives me great
feeling of accomplishment. I told you, it is a two way process. Listening
works like a highway, where happiness travels with high speed, no speed
breakers, no stop lights on the way.

It is 11.15, I and done with my calls and with my Facebook messages.
I am busy with my hair color and the rest of calls will be after. I have
to call my younger brother and my elder brother's wife.

I am talking about messages, how can I forget to talk about the messages
from my Readers Family on my Blog. My friends in Ireland, please forgive
the Smile Corner Cafe Manager. He is my friend, a nice person.

My Dear "N" I am happy for you. I am always there for you. You are never
alone my friend. Try to get busy with anything. Please write me down about
about the things you do in your daily life. I will be happy to know.

Dear Retirees, please ask the Retired Priest not to talk about Religion. Ask
him to forget about tapes and everything. I will be sad if any action taken
for my Temple Friends. It matters a lot to me. Keep Blog reading Sessions
out of Religion topic.

For Smile with Smile program, I am very happy to know about the schools
and about the students. I congratulate all the Committee members for their
work and dedication. Keep it up please.

Dear Students, your parents love you. Trust me. You can understand that
when you will be parents in years to come. Take it easy. This too shall pass.
Time flies.

Kris Dear why every time Niklas has to go with Father. If Father can not
walk.  It is OK, nothing wrong with that. Please make sure Hannah and
Niklas not to suffer because of Father's enjoyments. Thanks

It is 1.45, still raining, storm warning for the afternoon. I am with my
computer, playing scrabble and card games. Beautiful Fall colors looking
great from my bedroom window.

Magnolia tree on the left of my front garden looks happy with gold and
orange leaves all around. The tree in front, outside of my neighbor, across,
looks beautiful with scarlet red leaves. Every tree exhibiting artistic view.
So much to enjoy, amazing. Life is great.

  1. I have posted the blog in Smile Corner. This being Saturday lots of customers are in my shop today, just like usual. There is no room inside, and people are waiting outside. I am running low on supplies because I thought there will be less people but after you forgave me, there is a big crowd.. Someone brought "Morning Smile". These omelettes are very popular in our town. We call it by this name to acknowledge Smile all day. The priest is here too and is feeling low. I gave him a banana smoothie because he was very helpful in the last 2 weeks. Thank you for accepting my apology

  6. As the autumn season is taking its slow leisurely trot, you use your blogs as a canvas and paint pretty pictures for your readers. Your illustrations are further enhanced by balancing hue and chroma. The flowers that you use to create a bouquet dazzle us , your readers, in their beauty and bloom. With a few keystrokes, you aptly presented neighbourhoods as a very desirable and livable community. You certainly have helped us get rid of the winter blues and getting us ready for the winter season

thank you for making our days brighter

  8. Dear Advisor,

The retirees went for our long walk today. After that we had our lollipop. This walk is very long for us but we are not going to compare it the walks that you take because you prefer that we dont

The retirees are very appreciative of your blog today. Your blog had multiple aspects to it. It dissected the science and psychology of listening, had many pearls of wisdom, an artistic brilliance and of course, a literary masterpiece which also took us right into the spirit of the autumn. Many retirees done enjoy autumn as it is too cold for us. We simply stay indoors and do not venture out as its very cold for us.

We had a little incident a couple of days ago during the reading of the recipe blog. As usual it was extremely well attended. The hospital administrator was very pleased about the chicken corn soup recipe. She said that the one that they use in the hospital is not very good but this recipe is nourishing as well as appealing to the taste buds. The hospital staff whose recipe is used now looked sheepish but agreed that this is far superior than the one that she uses. The physicians, nurses and ex-patients also took extra copies of the recipes. The retired chef was very pleased and said that the 5 star properties will love it. As the recipe blog reading was on Halloween day, a no. of retirees came dressed in Halloween costumes. The temple people were here. They were in their normal clothes. The retired priest pointed that out and said it is Halloween and how come they are none of them is wearing any costume? The hijab lady said that they are only here for the reading. The temple priest was here also and that it is a sin to celebrate festivals in this sad months and it is a sin for them to celebrate Halloween irrespective of the mourning months. This did not go well with the retired priest. The retired priest said to him that if the temple people are living in the West then they should live like others and if they dont have Halloween costumes then they can wear there normal clothes as they are costumes also. The hijab lady said that Halloween is a Christian festival and thats why they dont celebrate but the retired priest told them to "Go home". It was a little messy situation

The Smile with Smile program team wanted to thank you for your kind words. They requested for some advice about teenage issues.

    thank you
    recent retiree

  9. Dear Author,

We read your blog at the Smile Garden today. Prof George and Dean were here. They clarified that they were not coming to the readings a few weeks ago because they were visiting professors in a university which is about 200 miles from here. They said that because Mrs. Lucy was sick at that time, they would come back every day instead of staying there and leave first thing in the morning. This is when some students saw them. They asked us to apologize to you for not being able to clarify this earlier which caused you undue concern. They said that they used to be away from dawn to late evening therefore didn't had the chance to do that earlier. They also cautioned everyone to not jump to conclusions or start spreading rumours.

Some of us are having a really difficult time with our parents. Some students are returning home and the car rides with our parents is a nightmare. The only good thing is that at least we get to drive the car. When at home, our parents want us to sit with them and tell them about our journeys as well as our lives at uni. They ask us all sorts of qs, ie how did you get the ride? Who was in the car? How fast was the car going? Some students joked that the only qs that they dont ask us is where we are sitting in the car or how many boys and girls are in the car. We know that the lucky guy is not going through that so you probably dont know about any of this stuff

    Thank you
    Literature Fellow

  14. I was forwarded your blog earlier this week by one of the school principals in my city who attended a Smile with Smile program. I am a child therapist with focus on youth and your blog makes perfect sense to me. I am specifically talking about shortening the lecture time and keeping it to 30 mins or less. I am saying that in the context of the training that I have received. I will discuss this further in our office and will ask the updating of our training documentation and methodology in the backdrop of this blog

    thank you
